Revised Season Predictions Round 2

I made a thread like this after the Navy game, but that game wasn't monumental enough to swing confidence either way and thus didn't garner any interesting responses.

However, last night's win was monumental. Does the whipping of a top-10 team on the road have you drinking the BCS kool-aid it seems like everyone in the national media is? Or are you going to sit back and take it game by game?

I'm taking it game by game. If we beat Michigan next week I will be drinking the Kool-Aid and ND will be the talk of the nation.

We owe Michigan big time and they've had our number for the past several years. A win at home against Michigan and we may be a Top 10 team who can start dreaming of a BCS game or even bigger. Until then just take it week by week and think in terms of 9-3 or 8-4.

This is still a young team. Remember that as we play together and get better so do the other teams will do the same. We still need to improve.

Plus i tihink rvised predictions 1 was probably good enough for this to be one thread.

I was calling for extreme disappointment with anything less then ten wins before the season and I'm going to stick with that.

They play a ton of top 25 teams, but I believe that we should be able to beat anyone on the schedule if they don't beat themselves.

Great win vs MSU, and UM game now is bigtime in the overall season. A 4-0 start sets them up for great possibilities.

Not willing to change my 8-4 prediction just yet. Love what I am seeing out of the defense. The O is still sketchy. And Kelly still does one or two little weird things each game that make me jittery. I think we should clobber the skunkbears and handle Miami. So Stanford and BYU are now my litmus tests.

I originally said before the season started we would be 7-5 with a bowl loss to end up 7-6.

I'm gonna go with 8-4 with a bowl loss to go 8-5 for the 3rd straight year. I'm just not sold on this team......YET. I'm happy we are winning but we now have the hard part of the schedule.

I think we lose 3 this year. 1 to either SC or Oklahoma (remember both are on the road). I believe we lose one we shouldn't (BYU, Mich, Stanford ???). We will get matched up against a juggernaut SEC team in a BCS bowl and lose a hard fought game. I want to be wrong, but this is the best case I can fathom after watching the Irish for my entire adult life. I do see signs that we are here to stay and not doing it with spare parts and duct tape on defense like during the Weis era. I could never say we have had a D-Line to hold up agaionst anyone.........until now. We are only gonna get better. Next year I believe we take a real sustained step toward National Title contenders. By the way, it is so nice that the talking heads actually UNDERRATED us this year and nobody in the media thought we would play this well so soon.

Sticking with 9-3 for now. I definitely think it's more likely that we go 10-2 than 8-4 at this point but Stanford all of a sudden seems formidable. I predicted a loss to MSU, Oklahoma, and USC in the preseason.
