Amen. When I was in the Navy we manned the rails when pulling into Pearl Harbor as we passed the USS Arizona. Very humbling. If you haven't been to the memorial you should go. It's something you'll never forget. You can still see a sheen of oil on the surface where the Arizona is at. We actually pulled into Pearl because the world premiere of the movie Pearl Harbor was on the flight deck of my old ship, the USS John C Stennis.
Thanks for posting...This one was the first...by which each generation marks its tragedies...
the response of that generation...with no "precedent" to guide their response was simply awe inspiring. I join everyone in somber reflection of the tragedy of that day...but I have immense pride in what followed.
