Any idea when they come out? Or where the irish will be? Ill say 18-22 range. Also, what about Michigan? lol do they still deserve to be ranked? I think theyll probably fall 8 spots. Watch out, the wheels may be starting to fall off the UM ship

They come out tomorrow after the week's final FBS game tonight. I think ND will be in the 22-25 range.

Damn VT having to play on Monday- I want my rankings. I think we will end up in the 20-25 range (though I think we should be 17-22 ish). The reason being is only loses in the top 25 were vs. other top 25 teams, meaning only Boise will drop out for sure. (Michigan will stay around 12-16 ish). * Assuming VT wins* While I believe we should leapfrog teams like Stanford and Florida, it is hard to move up alot when other teams dont lose. SO I'd say closer to 23, though we should be highly based PURELY on week 1 results (which probably isn't entirely fair either).

Oh I forgot Auburn also lost- they are top 25 (25th) but only in the USA today (where we were already ranked(24th))- I'd see us moving up to about 20-21 there. * Assuming VT wins*

Most of the articles about Alabama and Michigan seemed to focus on how good Alabama was, not on how bad Michigan was.

All this means is that we will most likely still be below Michigan in the rankings.

Theyll still be high enough for us to shock everyone when we beat them

Quick question. Does CBS and NBC use a different ranking than ESPN? I noticed during the game CBS had ND ranked 24th yet ESPN doesn't have them ranked at all.

CBS uses coaches poll and espn uses the AP I believe.

For the AP poll:

1 - USC, W 49-10.
2 - Alabama, W 41-14
3 - LSU, W 41-14
4 - Oklahoma, W 24-7
5 - Oregon, W 57-34
6 - Georgia, W 45-23
7 - Florida State, W 69-3
8 - Michigan, L 14-41
9 - South Carolona, W 17-13
10- Arkansas, W 49-24
11- West Virginia, W 69-34
12- Wisconsin, W 26-21
13- Michigan State, W 17-13
14- Clemson, W 26-19
15- Texas, W 37-17
16- Virginia Tech, W 20-17
17- Nebraska, W 49-20
18- Ohio State, W 56-10
19- Oklahoma State, W 84-0
20- TCU, BYE
21- Stanford, W 20-17
22- Kansas State, W 51-9
23- Florida, W 27-14
24- Boise State, L 13-17
25- Louisville, W 32-14

26 - Notre Dame, W 50-10.

It only looks like there's only room to jump to ~#24.

You can expect Boise State to fall off out of the Top 25.

Does Stanford fall for looking like crap against San Jose State? I would have a hard time believing they gained any votes.

What about Florida? They looked like crap against Bowling Green.

Michigan should absolutely tumble, but not further than #20.

ND should pass these teams but since in the Coaches Poll where Conference Revenue Sharing, Bowl Slots, and Coaches Bonuses are made, I'm dubious that will happen. If UM dropped to 20 ND could pass them as well. But again it's The Coaches Poll where we take care of our own.

20- TCU, BYE
21- Stanford, W 20-17 Struggled with SJS
22- Kansas State, W 51-9 over Div 1AA Missouri St
23- Florida, W 27-14 finally pulled away from Bowling Green in the 4Q
24- Boise State, L 13-17 Out with a tough loss
25- Louisville, W 32-14 over Kentucky

Stanford will almost certainly look way too high at #18. They will probably fall.

Boise State will probably end up out of the Top 25 here too.

I think Notre Dame will jump Boise State, Florida, and Stanford and end up at #21.

ND 16th in Sagarin Predictor Model

ND 16th in Sagarin Predictor Model

USATODAY.com

You'll see ND listed at #19 in RATING, the first of Sagarin's 3 computer models. ND is listed at #23 in the ELO CHESS model which the BCS uses as it is PC and only considers wins and loss not Margin of Victory (MOV). Sagarain claims his third model PREDICATOR is the most accurate of his models it does include MOV. The RATING Model is a an average of ELO CHESS (wiothout MOV) and PREDICTOR (with MOV).

Sagarin dropped Michigan like a rock and MSU is behind ND but close less than 1-1/2 points on a neutral field. Only USC and Stanford are tougher according to Sagarin.

ND is listed with the 71 Toughest Schedule as Sagarin ranks SOS by opponents played to date. Look down the list and you'll find Navy at #69 in RATING and #72 in PREDICTOR. So how does that make #71? Ask Sagarin, it's his system.

Several years ago I swapped some emails with Sagarin and he acknowledged that in the opening weeks of the season (say about 5) he weights the rankings based on last year's finish. (Just like the people polls). After those first few weeks he throws out the wieghting factor and ranks the teams on actual competition.

As of this week ND would be a 12 pt favorite over PU and 15 with home field advantage which is about where Vegas has it.

Also as of this week ND would be about a 1 to 1-1/2 pt dog to MSU in Lansing. AND about an 8 pt fav over UM in SB.

Mileage varies from week to week.

Also, Michigan is in at #19 in both polls - the only team with an opening loss in the rankings.

Not that I'm not happy about it, but I thought 19 was a little harsh for the skunkbears.

And I think #22 is about right for us. If Miami and BYU win enough to be ranked when we play them, and Stanford starts to look better in a few wins we have the potential to be playing 6 ranked opponents in a row. That's scary.

Miami isn't going to be ranked. They are one of the worst dozen or so teams in the country.

worst dozen? come on.

I agree that they're not very good, but they're schedule is soft enough that they have the potential to be ranked when we meet. They will probably drop a game (maybe 2) by that time, but they have a realistic chance of being ranked at that time.

Once again, not suggesting that they're good. Just that they have a chance to be ranked when we meet (this is why I sort of hate the rankings).

Really my point was that I didn't realize that those 6 games in a row is such a ridiculous strecth.

They have a decent chance of beating Bethune Cookman; I give them just slightly better than zero chance to beat K-State, GT and NCSU.
