Based on data from the Department of Justice and the Violence Project you're talking about a small minority of mash shootings. Not saying they're right by any means, but I've been told here recently that when something happens infrequently it's not a concern and just a point of faux outrage. Are we now saying that's incorrect?
According to the numbers from the Department of Justice, white people account for 45.3% of all homicides while making up 82.9% of the population, while black people account for 52.5% of homicides while only making up 12.6% of the population. The victims 50.3% of the time are white, while 47.4% of the victims are black. While they're just a fraction of the population, black people are disproportionally shooting other people at a far greater rate than white people, and there's slightly more white people getting shot. So is it only racism when it's a white shooter?
