To be fair, I believe eugenics was very big in his lifetime and as a direct offshoot of evolution, was accepted by much of the scientific world. Which was awful because eugenics is so despicable in every way.

If you boil down what he is saying, it's basically 'might makes right'. Which unfortunately, has always been the way of the world since the fall. Whether it's humans or even the animal world.

What is most hilarious about Churchill's preference for the Church of England over Roman Catholicism.
The Church of England, for the lack of a better word, was founded on the basis of a theological principle called "Coochie"

It is not settled, but Henry the VIII may have been shooting blanks.

I believe much of Churchill's irascibility is that he was, in middle years and beyond, a fat drunk. I have a lot of family experience with alcoholics and they get meaner with age, at least in my observation. .

A bit of humor that's racism related. Shemekia Copeland is an award winning blues singer whose father was a Texas blues legend. Shemekia has a very good and popular show that I frequently listen to on SiriusXM's blues channel. She recently told a story about how when her dad was in the hospital years ago, he shared a room with a guy who desperately needed blood and an organ transplant, but told his doctor that he didn't want any blood or organs from people of a certain race (she didn't say what race he was nor which one he apparently disliked). She thought that was stupid and ridiculous, and said, "Oh heck, if it would save MY life, I wouldn't care if it came from a three-headed monkey!" That made me laugh out loud.

People fear the unknown. and that to me, as a human, makes sense.

When you're a kid you fear what you do not know, the uncertain, the strange, the unfamiliar.

I grew up in a lily white town of 20,000 except for one black couple, the guy a shoemaker, who wrote the training manual on "under the radar."

.Then,, all of a sudden, I'm in the Army and Vietnam and 40% of the guys are black. So you drink with them, eat with them, march with them, shoot with them and get shot at or mortared with them, and all of sudden , they are US. We is now inclusive, by human dynamic.

And my company just had a rreunion, on which I passed..

but I looked at the list of the guys in the company, and found that, pretty much the distribution of

freinds
nodding acquaintnces
jerks
assholes
heroes
folks you'd like to see again

was, shocking, pretty much the same between black and white. .

And that's the way it is.. But up in flyover ccountry, in central Pennsylvania, Sioutheast Ohio, southern Indians, Upstate Wiscomsion, the Dakotas and sho' nuf Utah,.....
. most people there have never
sat down with a a person of color for a personal lunch or dinner. It is just the way it is.

So when they see someone cavorting around like Screamin' Jay Hawkins, they extrapolate and think that is an archetype

But it's just the way it its.

And somebody like Malcom X????? To really understand Malcom, and race in America or the world, you may wish to review Ossie Davis' postscript to Alex Haley's book about Malcolm. I will not summarize it, make up your own mind.

and, matter of fact I would recommend reading Ossie's posscript over reading the whole book.....................

But people have emotions and to them those emotions are real.

It is like telling someone who has fear of flying that their emotions are WRONG. but that fear of flying is REAL to them and it feels right to them.

One more story..

In the summer of '73 jI was with a coworker strolling around in his neighborhood after.our families had dinner.

We ran into one of his neighbors who played at Notre Dame and is a member of the college Football Hall of fame. I will withhold his name.

We talked about life, business, and of course,ND football. At that time, Browner Bradley Fry Hunter and the rest were climbing up the depth chart. Few remember this, but Bradley won his starting position before Browner won his.

and then he said, with cllarity but without anger or anymosity "Yeah they'll struggle this year because they have so many n------------------------rs."

Of course ND did okay in '73.

But I was not angry with the Hall ofFamer then and am not now. that is just what he was comfortable with, what his personal history told him.

So, these things take time.

But America has crossed over now, we will be the melting pot, unlike the globe has ever seen.

Sadly the ones left behind today are the ones who were here first: the Natives.........

Brown was shot by an officer who had an altercation with him at his car window, resulting in the officer shooting Brown's hand. Brown attempted to flee with his hands raised but the officer fatally shot him six times in the back. He was 18.

The Obama DOJ. That's who also didn't file charges. I know many D politicians still allege murder, despite Holder and team investigating as well as the grand jury and actual evidence. But if you want to know who argued that this statement is BS- the answer is the Obama DOJ.

Facts and evidence couldn't care less about opinions and agendas. You see racism as something evil people do just to be mean or because of a character flaw. I gave you a very sound, easily demonstrable example of how it almost certainly has a strong genetic component that predisposes us or even drives us to practice it. Not a justification for it, but a biological underpinning of it. Similar to a biological explanation of the genetic underpinnings for sexual behavior. If I tell you that the drive to mate sometimes becomes so compelling that people commit rape, that doesn't justify rape nor make it OK nor absolve those who commit it. It just explains the biological forces that contribute to it. Understanding and recognizing those things is very helpful in learning to eliminate the problem.

Racism is a form of xenophobia: a fear, mistrust or dislike of outsiders or those different from ourselves. There are absolutely some genetic predisposition to such behavior for the simple reason that such behavior has a survival advantage. If you don't think it's a common trait across countless species, drop an ant from one colony into another and see what happens. Put an outside wolf into a pack and see how they treat him. Do it with lions, zebras, dolphins, gorillas, or most especially our closest relative, chimps. Look at a group of kids when a new kid moves to town and starts attending school with them or wants to join them on the playground. Sometimes they're welcoming, but most of the time they can be vicious little xenophobic shits for awhile. It's human nature.

Genetic and archaeological evidence clearly shows that most (not all, but most) encounters between prehistoric humans typically led to fighting and killing before the groups assimilated with each other (or one wiped the other out). Historic records show much the same in most cases. We are (as are most other species) genetically programmed to be xenophobic. Understanding that, why we're programmed to be that way, how it manifests itself, and what the advantages and disadvantages are can go a long way towards helping people see why it may not be a useful trait any longer and learn to rise above it, as we've learned to rise above many of our other baser instincts as we've become more civilized.

While you may be correct, I demur (no more severe than that) on "genetic programming."

I think animosity and hate are learned (TAUGHT??) behaviors, far scarier.

Crips and Bloods kill each other, that is not genetic programming.

Bama and the Barn, well, if you're Harvey Updike murder each others' trees

Sunni and Shia are TAUGHT (it seems to me) to hate each other)

For the record, I concede that I am a virulent, SKEPTIC on all determinism, from astrology to race to sex, to Schlomo Freud's nonsense. I never take mental health counsel from a cokehead who smokes 20 cigars a day.

NOw, I concede that the social programmins/institutional programming is intense, pervasive, profound.

So it may be a distinction without a difference.

Didn't even think of this when I first saw the news of this incident. Holden hit the nail on the head, this would be titled some huge racist attack IF Elder was running as a Democrat. The MSM only cries racism when it fits their needs. For the record, I don't think this attack had any foundation of racism.
