Interesting, this was the first game I haven't been able to finish, and I've probably played 20-25. I was just starting to think what a dramatic improvement it was from last year, then this happened.

Not sure if anyone has played through a dynasty to the end yet, but I was really surprised when we finally got to the end of year one in my other online dynasty. First off, the day where the servers were down (Sunday I think) it totally screwed us...we had people that won their bowl game come up with losses, which shot their coaching prestige down. Then, when you get to the offseason you have a few choices. First, you can resign with your team or you can look for a new job. Well, you can only pick from a small handful of offers as most of the good jobs have been picked over.
Example: I was playing Arizona's DC on Heisman level and did pretty good. We lost to USC and Oregon, but flat hammered #3 Stanford and won the games we should have. Went to a bowl. I met all but two goals in my contract, and they were very low in importance. What do I get? A D+ ranking, and the best I can do is go become an offensive coordinator for a couple of two star programs (Arizona is three star), go become the DC for Baylor (again, two stars) or stay with 'Zona. Plus, all the members in the dynasty pick in an order of some kind...it starts with the commissioner and then goes to the next player like a draft. You pick jobs that way on a first come first served basis, which is kinda crappy. Lastly, all the "good" jobs are already show as "filled" without even having the option to chase them (if you had a much better rating). It's really odd. Suffice it to say, it would seem if you go the route of turning the coaching carousel on and start on a low prestige team you had better be in it for the long haul because you'll be slugging it out on the lower ranks for AWHILE.
It's not like I was trying to turn one year of successful defensive coordinating into a head coaching job at Penn State or Notre Dame. But, it would be nice to move from that to a head coaching job at, say, North Texas or FIU. Something head coach related. I think that's totally unrealistic to say "Yeah, all you can do is be a coordinator again" if you put together a very solid single year of coaching. Someone, even a lowly team, would give you a shot as a head man. Just my 2¢.

Kevin Wilson (now head coach at IU) had been an OC in D1 football since 1992. A co-OC (2002-2005) and OC (2006-2010) at OU before he ever got the opportunity to coach at what most consider a pretty lowly IU program.
Tell me they weren't pumping out some kick *** offenses during those seasons too.

Oh no, I totally agree. I wasn't expecting to see HC jobs just falling all over the place for me. But, I figured there would at least be one or two (like an FIU or San Diego State type gig). Plus, you have to remember this is a video game and not real life...where Kevin Wilson has spent many years building his coaching resume and getting to a head coaching position, realistically, you're trying to do it in one year's (real time before the next copy of the game comes out) game play. Sure, time moves faster on the game, but you also want the ability to get to a HC gig and then keep moving till you get to your favorite program, then coach them for as long as possible. I don't know...I guess it would have been nice to have some kind of idea how long it would take you to get where you want to go. But then again, some people may buy the game and play it for the next twenty years of real life time and be happy as a clam. Can't please everyone I guess...now, if these tools at EA would just fix their servers and some of their code issues to avoid glitches that might help.

There's an end??? or do you mean season one end??? I never knew these things had an end... I am about 13 years into one right now and must have gone a good 30 plus years a few years back.

Yeaahhhh...I meant "Season One"...
The main reason I see this as a problem is because most people I know, if they aren't playing their favorite team and relishing in the personal competition of head-to-head victories, most NC's and best recruiting classes they get bored. If it takes you four or five seasons at a sucktastic program to build up an A+ coaching rating (so you can HC a major program like OU or Florida), that seems rather long winded. That's a lot of seasons playing teams you have zero interest in, that's all I'm saying. I would have thought putting in a badass year of coordinating, making 7/8 my goals on Heisman level, would have given me a better rating than a D+ as a DC. Guess not. Didn't expect Penn State to replace JoePa with me or anything, but would have been nice if at least Ball State said "Hey, we'll give you a HC shot." I don't think that would have been ridiculous.

I've had some HC offers...two star online d. Coord. Dynasty...I was Baylor for season one...national championship then the game robbed me with the week 15 disconnect from the ea server glitch and made me lose it via simming.
baylor is now a 3 star in year two...I had HC offers from a couple 1 star schools and Rutgers (2 stars) that I should have taken. But I will grab another this offseason.
