Sorry I dropped on you! The problem with this "Coaching Carousel" thing that my core group of players found is that it takes several seasons to get to a really good job. So, the thing is, if you're looking to coach your favorite school it's going to take awhile. While that's realistic, it's tough because it means you'll spend many seasons playing crappy teams, waiting for your coach rating to go up and the job you really want to open up.
Plus, when you factor in that the game has several buggy issues still being "worked on" it makes it tougher. Hell, one of the major problems they STILL haven't fixed is at the end of each season, your bowl results will NOT upload correctly online. The only way to get it to work is to simulate the bowls, and a lot of the time you lose them (which really bones your coach prestige rating)! Plus, think of how crappy that is if two users are playing the national championship!
My friends and I are still playing a "coaching carousel" online dynasty, but just for a side attraction. I think it's a cool idea, but better suited for an offline single player mode imho. We're now playing an online dynasty of our "favorite" teams, which I have found through the years ALWAYS keeps people's interest far longer and more passionately than any of the other things EA or players come up with. Of course, if they don't fix the bowl end of year issue, that's going to really suck the life out of the game.
Last patch fixed a few issues, like tweaking and changing the roster and freezing glitches, but it also broke the no huddle offense and forced people to completely remake all their custom playbooks. Plus, it created the need to adjust slider sets if you were using any. It's weird...we're playing on All American and it's slightly harder in some ways than our first dynasty on Heisman. The sliders are an unusual and fickle bitch.
EA really needs to get their **** together on this game...and all their sports games really. They have the licenses to NCAA and NFLPA so they've pretty much forced everyone else out of business (which is why they have an anti-trust lawsuit currently pending against them). I've always been an EA fan, playing NCAA since 1997 I think...but they've really started getting lazy on glitches and bug patching. Plus, they're QC is terrible.
We currently have five players in mine...All American using SEC Elite's slider set (with modifications) and Luvtotha9s awesome roster file from Operation Sports. Our players are using Alabama, OU, KU, FSU and I'm Notre Dame (of course). We might look to add more players in the future, so if anyone has interest let me know your PS3 ID. We advance three times a week...Tuesday Night, Thursday Night and Sunday Night. If everyone gets done early, sometimes we advance early but it doesn't happen often with there already being three games a week. If people are not finished by the advance date, the game and any recruiting not finished gets simulated for the good of the group.
