Last I read they were flirting around with the idea of moving him to QB, and he said he'd be open to doing whatever helps the team.

Rivals.com has an article up about who the toughest guys are to replace, so they had a blurb about Crist replacing Clausen. Duh.

They also noted that Goody has moved from WR to QB. is this confirmed by anyone? And do we know if it's perminent?

Yeah I heard rumors of this happening as well. I think for Spring Ball game their not going to have a choice. Because even when Crist gets healthy we're still gonna need a backup. And well hes the best option we have right now. So why not train him in it and give him much needed practice?

We've got the freshmen coming in, that can compete for the backup spot. I'm not sure how you figure that a guy who hasn't played the position in over a year, is a better option than a kid who has been playing it for years? Goodman would be just as lost, at QB, as any of the freshmen.

I think Goodman would be suited perfectly for Brian Kellys system. He's almost an exact mold of Tony Pike. Same build and everything. Except I do believe that Goodman is a lot faster than Pike. Kelly knows what he is doing and I would NOT be surprised to see Goodman starting a few games this year especially early with Crists injury and all.

He has the agility...unsure about quick read skills. ND needs a fail-safe option and that appears to be Goodman. He has a year under his belt which should help his confidence, can't remember if any of the QB recruits are coming early.

Well I heard he has a canon for an arm, throws harder than JC and DC. Plus he has at least college game day experience, not as a QB, but never the less he does have a idea of how the college game is played.

The only thing I've heard about Goodman's arm strength is that he can chuck it really far. This doesn't always translate to hard throws.

Well then, if the situation arises that we need a guy to throw a ball through seven inches of steel armor, we know who to call on. :)

Goodman needs to play WR in Kelly's offense. Let Crist (God willing he'll be ready to go), Montana, and Rees take the QB snaps in spring ball.

Goodman's arm strength is one thing but I doubt he has the pass accuracy to be effective at the college level as a QB. Just ask the Raiders, JR has the best arm strength in the NFL and what has that bought the Raiders? A team that's excited about playing Bruce Gradkowski and Charlie Frye?

If you're excited about the montana kid or a true freshman taking snaps, remember how much fun we had in the 2007 season

Clearly we all want crist healthy and starting, but my guess is right now Goody is our #2 and needs to know the offense inside and out at both positions

Need him at WR from a depth perspective. especially if Floyd and Rudolph leave for the NFL after this year...

I really hope he stays at WR... We have Crist, Hendrix, Rees, Massa, and Montana at QB... Focus on developing those guys at QB so Goodman can improve at WR.
