The uproar isn't about whether anyone saw combat or not. It's about whether they lied about their combat record.Vance put his life on the line?

Who goes hunting with an M16?What weapons of war does Walz think average citizens have???
Civilians don't have M16s. It's illegal to own in most cases.Who goes hunting with an M16?
To the bolded. Yes.No one said he's not an asshole. Just because you're an asshole doesn't make propaganda true. Lets not pretend that a load of "Trumped" up stories haven't been spun in the past, most often in election years, and then turn out to be phony later. Outwardly Trump has shown more times than not that he cares about the military though, which flies in the face of the "anonymous sources." Again, watch the video, it makes some points and cite actual sources that call into question the crap from the Atlantic. There's e-mails and information that contradict Kelly's statement.
Major General Bill Matz is one of many that has refuted it, why is his word any less reputable? Is Trump a bigger liar than any other politician? If anything I would argue that he may tell the truth more often than some politicians, his big problem is he has no filter and is rarely politically correct, so his statements are often inflammatory. He's more prone to exaggerations than anything, that's usually where the lies stem from.
The military amputees thing has been debunked. As mentioned he's been to Walter Reed multiple times and visited with disabled and amputees. Here's Trump in 2019 before the Atlantic fabrication:

He sure hates those amputees

Other than one trip in 2021 he took, I'm not finding a lot about Biden visiting wounded soldiers during his Presidency, although he did recently visit Walter Reed for that undisclosed health issue. When I look for pictures of Biden and soldiers I'm getting this:

I went into San Francisco a few weeks back. It was quite nice. The Lower Height is like 200 times “nicer” than it was in the early 90’s. Went to the Toronado which was the same and as awesome as it ever was.Everything seems shitty when you're no longer living in an echo chamber.
San Fran is an incredible city. Up there with Charleston/Savannah for me. I will never understand how people who live on basically a Walking Dead set think San Fran is some shithole.I went into San Francisco a few weeks back. It was quite nice. That’s cute. What weapons of war does Walz think average citizens have???
AR 15’s are essentially the same weapon as the M16. Thanks to the dumb fuck conservatives on the Supreme Court, who are big time hunters and survivalists I’m sure one can ameliorate the issue of a AR not being fully automatic by adding a bump stock. Those fuckin squirrels are going down! Good times!Civilians don't have M16s. It's illegal to own in most cases.
Twitter. Lol.San Fran is an incredible city. Up there with Charleston/Savannah for me. I will never understand how people who live on basically a Walking Dead set think San Fran is some shithole.
To the bolded. Yes.
In regards to the photos. That’s nice. Trump did some photo ops. Good for him.
To your last comment, Biden’s son served, got a Bronze Star and possibly died of brain cancer related to his service. I’m gonna go out on a limb here but I’m thinking he has a better understanding of what vets and their families deal with than Trump.
IMO, Trump will mail this campaign in and I think it'll become more obvious as he gets increasingly more weird. He's not prepared to campaign effectively against Harris, and I think it's incredibly naive to believe he's going to miraculously turn the tables during debates. It's not 2016 anymore, a lot has changed socially/culturally, and he won't have the weight of his zealous social media presence like he did the first time around.
The GOP infrastructure is hallowed out, Harris is out-fundraising at a 3:1 or 4:1 clip over Trump, and the R's really don't have the machine to do much with their money besides let Trump do what he wants with it.
I think Trump would drop out if he could figure out a way to make more money out of it. But, mailing it in, crying about media bias and a stolen election (again), is the way to keep the con going and bring more money in for himself.
Seems odd to talk about ego when there was an attempt on his life in the last month and he's still running. Assassination attempts are usually a wake up call for the egotistical. After all, what good is an ego if you're dead?I don't think his ego would let him drop out. Or his fear of prison.
I’m not sure who this “ya all” is. Trump’s a demonstrable liar, con artist and convicted criminal. That being the case I would say my skepticism of his actions are well founded.I found at least 4 times Trump visited injured troops at Walter Reed, and there weren't always pictures of the visits. So, no, not everything is a photo op. Ya'll were gullible enough to believe a park was cleared for a Trump photo op too, so it's not surprising.
You seem to hold Biden's empathy in high regard. He likes to equate every disaster with Beau's death or his house fire. He compared the Maui wildfires to his kitchen fire from 15 years ago (No one died or was hurt in that one, and the damage was negligible with the fire being put out in 20 minutes). He compared Beau's death to the servicemen that died in the Afghanistan withdrawal, never mind that Joe had plenty of time to say goodbye to Beau over the course of his illness, closure that those other families never received. But yeah, he has a great understanding of what vets and their families deal with.

You missed the point just a wee bit there. I'm not minimizing Biden's loss, but he's minimizing other's losses by thinking his experience is the same as theirs. How is a kitchen fire the same as a family losing loved ones in the Maui wildfires? How is it the same as Maui residents losing their entire homes and their possessions? That's not empathy, that's just pathetic. As to Biden, his kid died. That’s fucking rough. Minimize it if you want but that’s a dick move in my opinion.
If you're going to have those pictures to make your point let's make sure to include this one as well. There's that "weird" buzzword again. The hivemind is alive and well.

What makes you think Trump can't handle Kamala in a debate? We heard for months how Trump was scared to debate Biden and that Dark Brandon was going to wipe the floor with his senile ass. How did that go? When has Kamala ever shown that she excels in a debate format? She got ousted from the 2020 primaries by Tulsi, absolutely was eviscerated. Kamala dropped out shortly thereafter. Harris, much like Biden, has shown that she's fine if you give her a teleprompter, but she struggles to speak off the cuff. That's not to say Trump doesn't say stupid stuff when he's speaking freely, but he's definitely more natural.
Is there any question why Kamala has avoided doing a sit down interview since becoming the nominee, and why they're putting it off till the end of this month (If ever)? It's quite likely she's currently being prepped and drilled to improve this gap in her toolset.
It's funny you guys still think this is about money for Trump. That was the rumor during his first Presidency, he was running just to make money and never expected to actually win, right? How much money has he lost in litigation, fines, lawyer fees, etc by continuing to stay in politics and absorb legal attacks? How much of his own money is lost campaigning? He didn't need a 2nd term to make money, if anything he could have used his popularity to coast and then stay out of politics so the legal troubles would die down. It would have cut the costs and lost revenue greatly. Like you said, Kamala is bringing in 3-4 times more cash, and that's not factoring in Trump's legal hurdles and costs. If it was about money I'm pretty sure he'd get out of the vengeful eye of liberals and retire back to the business world.

Generally its pretty ugly if veterans one up each other on who did what. At the end of the day, the logistics guy, pilot, infantry, artillery, guy steering the boat, guy serving food, guy writing memos for the senior officers, etc are allVance put his life on the line?

This is one of the most misinformed posts in the history of IE. An AR15 and an M16 are by no means the same weapon. An AR15 isn't a military grade weapon or an assault weapon and not something typically used to hunt squirrels. It's the same weapon as a standard .223 hunting rifle, just made to look like a military grade weapon. It may be scary looking to some, but it's just cosmetics. It's like putting a hood scoop, a spoiler, and some racing stripes on a Honda Civic. Doesn't really make it a sports car or race car. An M16 is a fully automatic military grade weapon. There's a huge difference. That’s cute.

Anyhow, you would think that those originalist dumb dumbs would make everyone use flint lock weapons considering that’s what militias (well organized and otherwise) used back the day.
I agree in principle, and I'm a huge gun advocate, but an AR-15 can be easily converted to another caliber besides .223 and can also be easily converted to fully automatic. Damn near anyone with a 3d printer and little now how can make them fully auto. I also believe most citizen's should have access to them. To me it's the only way to prevent a police state. But I understand why some people want to get them off the street, but I'm my eyes a week armed populace keeps the police and government fearful of us.This is one of the most misinformed posts in the history of IE. There could be many reasons. A huge one is that Harris isn't Clinton so everything that "worked" in 2016 won't land as well in 2024. Trump is almost 80, he's old. His schtick is old. He doesn't communicate policy, constantly lies, contradicts himself, goes off on strange tangents, and relies mostly on being aggressive and a bully. It'll never be better than it was in 2016 and Trump has far more disadvantages to overcome now. What makes you think Trump can't handle Kamala in a debate?
It's been 3 weeks since Biden stepped down, why is this (of all things in modern US politics) such a big problem!? But anyway, let's talk this through...Is there any question why Kamala has avoided doing a sit down interview since becoming the nominee, and why they're putting it off till the end of this month (If ever)? It's quite likely she's currently being prepped and drilled to improve this gap in her toolset.
Trump controls the GOP and politics is by far his largest money-maker.It's funny you guys still think this is about money for Trump.

No parent should have to bury their child, but you don't think some of those families that lost their own in the Afghanistan withdrawal wouldn't give a small fortune to have their loved ones back a short time? To have the opportunity to say goodbye? Joe had that gift, they didn't, and he certainly didn't show "empathy" when he's standing there checking his watch when they were supposed to be honoring those fallen soldiers. Probably had more important places to be, like getting an ice cream cone.
Biden’s ineptitude in Afghanistan was one of the biggest military failures in the last century. It showed a complete mismanagement that even the partisan Dems couldn't deny. He then gave up the image of checking his watch at the funeral for those he put in danger. The story is not Republicans pounce.Too bad dumb ass Trump didn’t follow through on his big talk about getting out of Afghanistan and instead kicked the can down the road just far enough so he’d have plausible deniability related to the withdrawal.
He then insisted on running his mouth about and thus politicizing the loss of life related to the withdrawal after he lost the election and was out of office. The guy’s an asshole.

There has been no evidence of ties to brain cancer and the burn pits, and Biden has many times falsely claimed that his son died in Iraq.Biden’s kid died likely due to his military service in Iraq.
If the kitchen fire killed a loved one then yeah it would be similar to losing a loved one to the Maui fires.

Oh ok. Making after market modifications that significantly upgrade performance is comparable to adding “cosmetics”. I don’t idolize any of these people and yes I do think generally speaking Biden understands what it’s like to be an average citizen much more so than the guy who was born with a silver spoon up his ass and inherited a fortune. To think that a politician is empathetic toward faceless American citizens? Lol give me a break.
The people in DC care as much about your well-being as the executives sitting in corner office at Fortune 500s.
Political policies are built on what analysts believe give their candidates best shot at winning elections.
The fact is that nearly everyone in this thread is correct: the politician on the other side is a bad choice. But that's because they are all bad choices. Vance, Harris, Trump, Walz. They all suck. And they care zero about you or anyone close to you, other than the vote you give them.
Stop idolizing and placing your hopes in politicians.

Nobody is sure what all is in that picture, but the point is the party of those people are calling GOPers weird. It's a bit the pot calling the kettle black.I'm not sure what everything in that picture is but it looks like pretty typical anti-trans/LGBTQ/women's rights stuff? In terms of politicians, the behavior from Trump yesterday is truly bizarre and that happens just about every day.

Selling Bibles and coins? He came out of the Presidency essentially broke until he made some deals on the side. The litigations, lawsuits, and lawyers have done a number on his bottom line, which is part of the plan to stymie his re-election. If it was about making money he would do far better getting out of politics and sticking to business where the legal attacks would be fewer and far between.Trump controls the GOP and politics is by far his largest money-maker.
