As a family, we'll huddle as well. That will likely be the saddest part of our weekend... My son idolizes him and quite frankly, daddy thinks he pretty cool as well. Next week is going to be a tough one.

Group Hug????? I'm all in Brother!!!!! When I got my copy of the SI issue with Manti on the front.... I read it twice. He is definitely going in to ND lore my friend.

GO IRISH!!!!!!!

I have no problems with multiple threads on the same topic. Stop it with all this message board police ****.

My comments on the game:

EG has a good arm, but he throws too high to his receivers and is slow on the deep balls. Those will get better with time.

We need more plays to the WR. Screens, posts, fades, curls, whatever. Need to mix it up a bit more.

Defense seems to always start slow. Can't do that against USC and whoever we play in the bowl game, or we could get beat.

- Offense is improving every week. We have to make some strides in the next two weeks in tempo.

- I think some of our guys, Teo in particular, are still battling the flu.

- This week's injury report might be ugly.

- Boston College is a piece of $hit football program.

- Ishaq made strides. Really good effort today.

- We are 10-0, regardless of how anyone feels about our play the last couple weeks.... remember that.

I will be the one to disagree. Our offense isn't improving. We scored 50 on navy and they are a winning team. BC is a horrible team and we only put up 21.

I like that we can use so much clock but I am getting a bit tired of watching us use 7 minutes on a drive and cough up a fumble or interception. We need some hurry up. We do need to be able to put up 40 or more. Don't get me wrong, we just need one more point than the other team, but we don't need a shootout with USC or in our bowl game.

I am one that completely believes we are the most dominant football team of all time. A 10 or 11 win year isn't good enough. We need to be back on top again. Its been way too long and the way our years have been this may be our only shot for some time. Defense has held us but we won't have the same defense next year.

1. Field position is still not good and I think our offense is getting undeserved blame for not scoring a lot, but it seems they always have to drive 80+ yards.

2. Golson is coming along just fine and is making improvements. However he needs to work on his progressions, there are several times where a receiver is on an island and he doesn't even look his way.

3. D gave up some yards today but no TDs so enough said about that.

4. BK has GOT to be saving something offensively, the play calling gets really bland at times but, it's getting the job done.

5. We're 10-0, let's enjoy it!

Not sure i agree with our d not improving. There definitely is some sloppy tackling going on as of late which is annoying but overall our secondary is absolutely improving.

The fact we are 10-0 and we still have so much to bitch about shows how good this team is going to be in a year or two

At 13-0 people will still be bitching about players, coaches, and calls. During Holtz 17 game Win Streak fans called and wrote letters imploring him to, "THROWN IT TO THE TIGHT END!" Holtz though a TE was a 6th OL first, then a receiver ... maybe.

  • ND moved into a tie with Alabama for the #1 Scoring Defense with 111 points allowed or 10.1 pts/game.
  • ND which had a 15.0 ppg Margin of Victory once again won by 15 points.
  • The Rush Defense will improve while most of the Offensive Rankings will drop slightly or stay the same.
  • Golson's QB EFF ranking will rise about 10 slots to around #75 at 124.5. He was at 119.8 and against BC he had a season (career) best of 164.2. He was at 188 for the first half of the BC game but dropped in the second half.

Glad to have the win and move past BC. This was basically their bowl game. We really need to shore up the turnovers or they're gonna kill ius against USC and a bowl game.

We moved the ball well just about every time we had it. 3 times in the first half and probably should have been ahead 21-3. Overall, I think we should have scored at least twice when we didn't. That would have made the score 35-6. My point is, the game plan utilized was sufficient enough to garner what some would call style points. It could have been executed better.

Bottom line is that the last 2 games have been painful and frustrating to watch, especially against far inferior opponents. The team seems like it has lost some energy out there on the field.

Damn it feels good to be 10-0, but to be 12-0 and left out of the national championship is the worst thing ever.

The defense is going to give up yards. It seems like as soon as we get more then a 10 to 14 point lead they go right to bend don't break. The defense is fine they are doing what they are supposed to do but once again the offense struggled against another TERRIBLE defense. Thats somethin i guess we should just get to used to. I don't understand how an offensive minded coach is having problems putting plays together to put points on the board.

I don't see how our offense struggled at all? We moved the ball at will and had three long scoring drives, we also had two fumbles when we were driving, and the rest of the time we seem to have choose not to stay aggressive and sit on the lead. We were also something like 12 for 13 on 3rd downs.

That just means you we good on third down. 21 points against Boston College is embarassing.

You aren't THAT good on 3rd down, without being pretty good on 1st and 2nd down. Winning is not embarrassing. This team certainly has room to improve, but the sky ain't exactly falling, either.

Post game and was I there. Boston College came to play trust me this is there Michigan , U.S,C and Mich. St. all in one. If are gonna do screens and take out our linebackers you will have good stats and a loss . George Atkinson iii horrible game ran really soft this game. Last from me is we need a W.R. to step up I understand Floyd is gone but we do need clear cut number 1.

10-0, I'll take it, but didn't feel all that great with ND performance. Too sloppy, and think Irish need to dominate this type of opponent from the get go.
Hope injury to Daniels isn't serious.

1. Special Teams returns was really subpar...especially kickoff and punt returns. We're going to need to get something from that area some time over the next 2 games.

2. We didn't miss many tackles on defense but we also left a lot of BC guys wide open. We treated them the same way we played the Oklahoma receivers

3. Even though we had a lot of sacks and a fair amount of pressure, I thought we could have even have had more pressure

4. Our offensive line was clearly superior to their defensive line

5. We're relying too much on Golson's QB draw on every third down it seems and i think we were really lucky he converted some of those since no holes were there for him.

6. One of the biggest plays of the game was the generous spot and first down ruling, we received in the first half on Golson's 3rd down run.

7. Too many turnovers. We're not the type of team offensively that can withstand performances where we turn the ball over 2 or more times. We've got to play turnover less games

8. Way too many penalties on us.

9. Te'o INT iced the game and kept him having a good chance of going to NYC. 6 INTs for a linebacker is pretty amazing.

10. As unbelievable as Shembo played tonight, i thought he was even better against Pitt. This guy is not getting enough love this year for how well he has improved.

Question: Anyone "on edge" much?

Answer: Yes, why?

10-0 = Awesome!

BCS = Out of the frying pan and into the fire.

I feel like the last two weeks the Irish have just been going through the motions and playing very tight....Looks like they are playing not to make mistakes as opposed to playing to make plays. Its hard to win football games when your undefeated and you wear a gold helmet.. Teams like Pitt and BC especially come to play because they are considered rivalry games and when your 8-0, 9-0, its hard to get up for a team who is considered inferior...get past Wake and then get hyped for USC...

Look, it all goes to show what we already know. You must hang on to the football. Turnovers either cost you points for or cost you points against, depending on where and when they occur. The two turnovers may have cost us 14 points. If we win 35-6 probably no one is fussing. The game plan was the right game plan we moved the ball up and down the field. The outcome in my mind was never in question. But 2 turnovers hurt the ending score. We could have played better I agree. We have more work to do. It might be a blessing in disguise, it gives the players and coaches something to focus on.
