My thoughts:
- Rees. Woof.
- Can't see DD on TV, but where was his separation today? He was barely targeted.
- GAIII had his best game, mostly due to the OL playing really well in run blocking. Folston was the best IMO, not sure why he didn't see the field in the 2nd.
- Defense is slow to react and not athletic enough to play with the big boys. I don't know who is to blame for this. It can't be the recruits because we recruit as good or better than a team like Oklahoma, and it's apparently blasphemy to question the S/C coach, so not sure where to put the blame. But it looks like our guys have ankle weights tied to them.
- Biggest disappointments so far: Grace, Councel (he's not fast, btw), Farley, Tuitt, Shembo, Bennett Jackson. Basically the entire defense not named Jaylon Smith and Nix.
- Play calling was better than past weeks. But we're still not running the ball enough.
- BK is too conservative in many ways IMO. Not going for it on 4th down and 1, not trusting freshman RBs (Folston's playing really well - let him loose), 42 seconds and 3 TOs at end of 1st half, etc.
- Brindza could be the best punter in the country IFF he was more accurate. That guy gets at least one bomb per game.
- Defense gave up 450 yards of offense. That's more than West Virginia and Louisianna Monroe gave up to OK. Rees was bad, but this defense is bad too.
- Liked seeing Hendrix and thought he played well, but again, BK is too conservative. That 'wrinkle' is not sustainable unless you let Hendrix throw.
- Long year ahead, hopefully we can turn it around.
