I fell asleep in the 3rd. Navy is too boring to watch. I woke up and saw we lost. Can we just try something new? Im not saying Kizer is worth benching but maybe since theres almost a zero percent chance of being bowl eligible by the end of the season get some seniors who ride the bench some playing time, and throw in MZ for some snaps

How much of the DK shit slide do you put on BK versus Sanford? Serious QU. I blame BK just because I've seen enough of his shit to know he can definitely cause players to regress, but Sanford should be in question too IMO.

He did it with Golson in 2012 at least two times if I remember correctly.

Not sure I even want to comment or if im going to be able to be rational.......

1. Julian Love is awesome. Greer Martini played old school, big balls, ND football today. Tranquil was similar to Martini, but only in the first half. Nyles was decent but we needed more out of him. Isaac Rochell....Where the Fu&$ are you?
2. More than anyone/anything, DK lost us the game with his UNREAL accuracy problems and head-scratching ability to not throw to WIDE OPEN WR's at times.
3. Our D Line went back to pre-Miami play. Actually, i think Miami's OL just sucks so bad that they made our DL look good for 4 hours.
4. Josh Adams might be our best player. Love his athleticism/vision/decision making and poise.
5. BK, is a horrendous play caller. I really think so and as a football fanatic and coach I feel my opinon on this matter has weight.
6. McGlinchey REALLY fuc$&ed us out their with penalties. I felt the rest of the line was above average, big shouy out to Q Nelson for killing it out there.
7. Our WR's are awesome.
8. Navy beat us and im embarrassed and i dont care they beat Houston. We have MAJOR talent. Like someone else said. Top four stars losing to two stars.
9. Id be fine now with BK being fired. It's hard for me to say that, but its true. Down by four late in the fourth quarter to (clock-destroying option-snore-fest) Navy. We have a MASSIVE OL and great WR's and youre in the red-zone (or very near to it, and you kick a field goal.......very sad. Very sad.
9. ESB is going to be a pro bowl WR in the NFL. I bet he has 4.4-4.5 speed at 6'4-6'5.
10. Im sooooo fuc$&@g pissed off and disappointed.

I dont fault Kelly going for the FG.Had he gone for it and didnt make it imagine the comments. After watching Navy use up 9 minutes in the last scoring drive he had to figure he wouldnt get the ball back.At that point after making the FG I would have liked to see an onside kick.

Agree on the onside kick. If we don't get it, they get better field position and can't burn off 9 minutes. Of course, we probably don't practice that since there is not enough time in the week. Swarbrick needs to address the fact that we get less practice time than other schools. Not fair.

USF put up over 600 yards of offense against Navy and had THREE different 100+ yard rushers. This is a very bad defense guys and ND struggled mightily.

ST once again was atrocious.

ND defense didn't attack enough. Couldn't get off the field.

Idk what else to say/think/do.

I'm absolutely disgusted!! What in the world is up with this team??? We are just not getting it done, period. So disappointed and frustrated. Didn't expect a National Championship but C'mon now really!!! We're looking like a mid level MAC team!

Is there a reason Jarron Jones barely played?
You beat Navy by creating negative plays for their offense, and he's very good at penetrating and making TFLs.
Also this was a game where our inexperience in the defensive backfield really showed up. Studstill had a tough time. Love played great but then he got hurt and we had to play Crawford. Yuck. Where's Cole Luke?
And anyone who still says Kizer is a first round draft pick needs to watch some more quarterbacks. Guy missed a bunch of throws today. If he hits Stepherson on that wide open deep ball in the second quarter, we win by multiple scores.

If they kick the field goal, or go for it and don't get it, they still need to get a stop against Navy's offense either way. So, why not go for it and potentially score a go-ahead TD and put the pressure on Navy's offense, rather than your own defense?

The field goal was a huge mistake.

Face it. If your 330 lb linemen can push the 260 lb Navy DL for 2 friggin yards, then you SUCK period!

Man seriously who gives a shit? ND has SO much better talent that this shouldn't even be a game. I get some teams Navy should give trouble to because they aren't use to the option...Houston, OSU. I get it. But ND sees it every single year and has plenty of tape on defending it.

You are running 4 stars vs 2 stars. Gimme a break.

Shitty coach just like Weis was

Fukk......I hate to say that I agree with you Ray, but this.......and sooooooo much this

We averaged five yards a carry. Our running game was fine. I don't think Navy had a tackle for loss or stopped us on a short-yardage third down all day. Kizer missed some throws, which cost us some points - field goals instead of touchdowns. But we scored on five out of six possessions. The offense wasn't the problem.
The problem was the defense being unable to get off the field.

I'm gonna get grilled for this.....and I'm completely Ok with that. I blame Kelly for this entire fucking $hit storm that has transpired this season. First of all, BVG should've NEVER been retained to coach this defense. If you're defense is so God damned complex that you cannot get your best athletes on the field, you have no business coaching..... secondly, the start of the season against Texas.....that a$$ clown absolutely did not call the same game plan for both QB's. Kizer got the benefit of having the entire play book opened up for him, while Zaire was only in to RUN the ball. Texas knew this.....watch the game film if you think I'm wrong. I'm not Kelly set these kids up for failure for the entire season. I won't be unhappy if Kelly is shown the door at the end of the season.

I don't think anyone would really disagree with you about Van Gorder at this point. But not clear on your point re: Zaire. You're saying he should have got MORE chances against Texas?

Kizer is sailing a ton of balls. It doesn't look like footwork to me, but man he's inaccurate at times. Is Kelly still in charge of QBs? Get that stuff fixed!

Offense was not the problem this game, solely on the defense. HOW DO YOU KICK A FIELD GOAL THERE!

No, I'm saying they had different game plans for each QB. Zaire wasn't afforded the same play calling as Kizer, and it's not even close

OK. They do have different skill sets. I'd probably call more designed runs, and fewer vertical throws, for Zaire, too.
Do you think we'd be doing better if Zaire were our starting QB?

They do, however, Zaire was never afforded the ability to throw on 1st down, or a chance to be in 2nd and short to possibly throw the ball. I'm not advocating for Zaire to be the starter, because, at this point, he's been relegated to backup at best. I don't see him helping this team whatsoever in any capacity......and he was a vocal leader for not only the offense, but was also someone who would be over cheering on his defensive teammates. I don't know that Kizer doesn't do this, but, Malik wore number 9 this season for a reason..... he and Jaylon were close. Something else that bothers me as the season has gone forward, CJ Sanders has gone almost completely missing in action on offense. Sorry for the rant, been boozing and have no one else to talk to about this $hitty season, lol

I completely agree that Zaire is not helping this team at all. I went to the Syracuse game - an exciting game for the offense - and watched him basically sitting off by himself on the sideline the whole time. No presence in offensive huddles on the sidelines or anything. Looked like he didn't want to be there. Fairly disappointing for a guy who was supposed to be a leader on this team.

I don't know if he got a raw deal in playcalling, or just got outplayed by DK, and I would have much liked for him to find a role in our offense. But based on what we've seen, especially early in the season, I just don't see the argument that he ought to have been playing ahead of Kizer. And when he has gotten chances lately he's done nothing.

As for CJ, yeah. He made plays early. Not so much lately. I think part of it that he relies on slip screens and other lateral throws that require good blocking by WRs, and our WRs don't block that well.

I was asleep for the first half due to working nights and having a wedding to go before work tonight.

Coleman is worthless and should never see another min of playing time.

Booker needs to walk in to Bk's office and resign specials teams are awful week in and week out.

Kizer is as inconsistent as the weather man. He blew that last drive before kelly's bad decision.

Kelly what are you thinking you have to go for it there. I would rather you go for it and lose than give no effort.

Martini has heart but he is slow. He was in decent position and just didn't have the speed to get to the point.

Sanford Has not impressed me one bit for being the up and coming guy.

Dembrock/Sanford/Kelly are all at fault for not running the ball. It appears Dembrock is calling the plays and kelly has the ability to change that call which he isn't doing/or he is doing.

Nice to see you come to the real world. During spring, summer and fall camp you were very upbeat; typical happy go lucky Canadian. Notre Dam football has ruined you, like it has ruined all of us. Been 23 years of pain, suckyness and losers for me.

I don't think Kelly spends much time with the QB's and the offensive in general since the third game of the season. He seems to spend the majority of his time with defense since the MSU game.

IMO since then Kizer has progressively gotten worse, primarily working with the golden boy Sanford. So can't blame Kelly for Kizer's regression IMO. Seems that our favorite son, Sanford, might not be ready for the big time.
