Since each program claims they lay the claim to being a football factory for postions or players etc
what university does each
LB U is penn state

RBU is i guess U$C if it hasnt change

Are we still TEU (tight end U)?

and miami is NFL U

So what other programs are football factories?

Lots? Drew Brees is the only good QB. Orton is decent. Curtis Painter can't even hold a clip board properly.

Purdue Boilermakers - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:
Purdue has traditionally been called the 'Cradle of Quarterbacks',[1] having produced NFL stars Cecil Isbell, Dale Samuels, Bob DeMoss, NFL Hall of Famer and Super Bowl MVP Len Dawson, NFL Hall of Famer Bob Griese, Mike Phipps, Gary Danielson, Mark Herrmann, Scott Campbell, Jim Everett, Eric Hunter, Billy Dicken, Kyle Orton and Super Bowl MVP Drew Brees. Purdue QBs have thrown more touchdowns in the NFL, 1,311, than any other university; with Drew Brees and Kyle Orton starting for the New Orleans Saints and Denver Broncos respectively, that total will continue to grow.
How many ND QBs are starting currently in the NFL?

Note: For some reason I thought Grossman was also from Purdue, but I guess he was just born in Bloomington, Indiana.

I thought this thread was about what schools can claim recently, not historically, but I apologize if I was mistaken. I am well aware that Purdue is the "Cradle of Quarterbacks," but Brees is the only good QB to come out recently.

I never said ND is QB U, but Beau, you did just quote a wikipedia site that lists only two active Purdue alumni and then proceed to ask, "How many ND QBs are starting currently in the NFL?"

Which is it, historical or current?! ;)

Back in the day Miami had an impressive string of QBs.

Kosar
Kelly
Testeverde
Walsh
Erickson
Dorsey

Not sure if they are in the right order, but they almost always had a top flight signal caller

Lol

I took it as a mixture of both. If you had past titles like "Cradle of Quarterbacks" I figured you get first dibs over other teams.

I still don't think Orton is bad at all. He led the league in passer rating last year didn't he? And I asked about the ND QB thing just to make the point that even though we have had plenty of highly drafted QBs we don't two starting in the league like Purdue does.

Who else has that many? Just Michigan and USC, right?

Auburn (Campbell and Newton) ... I can't think of any others. Also USC has just one right? Palmer currently isn't a starter.

Yup. Sanchez and Cassell are starting. Leinart is #2 for the Texans. Palmer may end up starting somewhere before the season's done.

Ugh, I hate USC. Still can't believe a guy that never started for them is starting for the KC Chiefs.

UNC is DL U:

Robert Quinn 2011 14th overall
Marvin Austin 2011 52nd overall (would have been drafted higher of not for NCAA suspension)
Kentwan Balmer 2008 29th overall
Julius Peppers 2002 2nd overall
Not to mention Quentin Coples is regarded as a one of, if not the top DE in the 2012 draft.

Historically they have pumped out great players, but lately their defenses have been unbelievably stacked.

EDIT: Also add Cam Thomas 2010 5th round, and EJ Wilson 2010 4th round

I hate Belichick. People act like he just shits wins. I hate the Patriots. It started as a Raiders fan and continued as a Colts fan. lol

I got upset when one of my former high school's football coaches said I would be the next Belichick. I said, "except I won't cheat." lol
