Exactly. That’s the speaker they want and exactly what Jordan is. If they wanted to be bipartisan and pass bipartisan legislation. Jordan is not the guy they want to elect.
But here I am having to go to my local school board meeting to make sure Moms for Liberty doesn’t get elected to take control of the school board.
This is the part I pay attention to. We have more ability to make a difference at the county, local and school board levels. Uline, Ken Griffin, Dan Proft all spent a lot of money last year and all their proxies lost. They've taken their ball and gone home in some spots. For now.
The sad thing is, there are some normal Illinois conservatives out there who won't even run and while I am likely to disagree with them on a lot of issues, they're not interested in banning books and checking genitals at the girls HS track meet. They simply have different ideas about government's role. The problem is that their message isn't what is landing in the Republican Party locally and statewide because of the blaring national messaging. They lose in a primary or won't get turnout in a general against a Democrat.
D.C. is what it is. SCOTUS, the Senate, the Electoral College. That's all a lost cause now as far as I'm concerned. I don't want any extremists in local offices, and the ones that are there have to be organized against, challenged at every turn. It's the way it should be. While everyone is watching CNN and Fox News, your township supervisor and highway commissioner are grifting the hell out of you locally in plain sight only to not be seen.
