I hate the latest map as it is. Our county is staunch conservative, but after the last redistricting we got pulled into Hamilton/Cinci and now have a Democrat representative for the first time in forever as a result. Redrawing the maps can't get any worse for our county, maybe bad for others. I think DailyKOS is blowing smoke like usual though. They can get the votes to get a measure on the ballot, but I doubt it passes. Liberals have been crying about gerrymandering for years.

lol @ Dailykos

Liberals have been crying about gerrymandering everywhere they aren’t doing it.

They should do their crying from Maryland’s 3rd district.

What in the blue hell is going on there? Ohio looks pretty good in comparison.

While the value isn’t really that much the series of events that have been documented is pure corruption. I find that she tries to change the FOIA rules via new legislation after being busted is totally repulsive and corruptiony.

Non violent weaponry is the best kind. Just mentally and spiritually drain people until they've had enough and give up.

Thugs. What a clown show. This is in addition to Fox and Hannity getting politically involved in the House Speaker election. Fair and balanced my ass.

Not gonna lie, not a fan of Jordan being pushed as Speaker. Even as an Ohioan I can't support him, he's too far to the right and inflammatory. I'm going to support a more moderate leader, because I can empathize with the representatives that are afraid their support of Jordan may cost them their seats in battleground states. I'd rather the GOP not lose those seats. I also can't see Jordan getting anything done, Congress is divided badly enough as it is and he won't help the situation.

That said, watching the video I'm not seeing where Jordan is getting MAGA people to threaten these people? Seems pretty much like these are just idiots acting of their own volition. Meidas Touch doing Meidas Touch things in their reporting. You can see the type of people that gobble this up in the comments, they lack rational thought.

Would you be ok with her staff using Greek emails to avoid FOIA requests?
And then there is this. Not a good look for pro palestinian protesters.

They got caught up in the moment. It’s all understandable. All peaceful.

You haven’t been paying attention then. It’s not Jordan but the entire far right social media influencers. It’s literally everywhere. Even Nancy mace my rep tweeted out that people should call their reps and demand they vote for Jordan. That is the point and why I commented as I did. The whole point was an influence campaign in BEHALF OF Jordan. Even Faux News sent letters to reps on behalf of him. So much for neutrality. The whole point of the first vote was to put the no votes on the record.

They have no agenda. No direction. No desire to govern. Only to take away or hinder or negate. And they have to resort to threats to even come close to their desired result. They are pushing a man for speaker that was a trumps point man for the insurrection and hasn’t passed or even authored a single piece of legislation in 16 years. How the hell os he gonna work with Dems on anything? He isn’t and has no plans to from his own mouth. Clown show.

Anybody been catching the House GOP members trying to blame the Democrats in the house for the GOP majorities inability to elect a speaker?

I mean come on now. 😂
It was their talking point today. That’s really the only thing McCarthy said in every interview. Among others. Lol. Ok bro.

Yeah. I don’t remember any of them voting for Nancy Pelosi. Lol.
All I've been seeing from the propaganda accounts the last two weeks is pushes for Hakeem to be Speaker. It's the only logical choice! He wants bipartisanship, that's why he's always so divisive...just not Jim Jordan divisive. GOP are all racists for not voting for Jeffries.

There is zero platform at the Federal level. Nothing other than owning the libs, and i'm not sure they even give a shit about that anymore. No shining city on a hill, no Party of Lincoln. Nothing. The Seinfeld political party. They're about....nothing. Gridlock is the idea and that's happening now.

Now at the state, county and local levels? That's something much different. That's where the Lord's work is being done.

McCarthy had an agenda, but we got a few who are either ‘no compromise’ or social media influencers. They screwed up by kicking him out. Those 8 should feel stupid right now, except for Gaetz because he knew what he was doing. I think you are confusing their ’lack of agenda’ for a lack of desire to participate in the failed Biden agenda, which is what they were elected to disrupt. The partisan cash grab needed some brakes and the administration needs oversight.

Exactly. That’s the speaker they want and exactly what Jordan is. If they wanted to be bipartisan and pass bipartisan legislation. Jordan is not the guy they want to elect.

But here I am having to go to my local school board meeting to make sure Moms for Liberty doesn’t get elected to take control of the school board.

This is the part I pay attention to. We have more ability to make a difference at the county, local and school board levels. Uline, Ken Griffin, Dan Proft all spent a lot of money last year and all their proxies lost. They've taken their ball and gone home in some spots. For now.

The sad thing is, there are some normal Illinois conservatives out there who won't even run and while I am likely to disagree with them on a lot of issues, they're not interested in banning books and checking genitals at the girls HS track meet. They simply have different ideas about government's role. The problem is that their message isn't what is landing in the Republican Party locally and statewide because of the blaring national messaging. They lose in a primary or won't get turnout in a general against a Democrat.

D.C. is what it is. SCOTUS, the Senate, the Electoral College. That's all a lost cause now as far as I'm concerned. I don't want any extremists in local offices, and the ones that are there have to be organized against, challenged at every turn. It's the way it should be. While everyone is watching CNN and Fox News, your township supervisor and highway commissioner are grifting the hell out of you locally in plain sight only to not be seen.

There's no question the Repubs are a mess right now, but don't forget that we'd probably have legislation getting passed right now if the Dems didn't jump on the Gaetz bandwagon and vote McCarthy out. Maybe he didn't do everything he promised (nobody does), but working with Jordan would be a lot tougher. Be careful what you wish for. You might just get it!

I love unilateral disarmament talk. Look at how moderate Pelosi and Schumer are and then talk to me about how Jordan will be the end of civilization as we know it. Republicans always have to be bipartisan and moderate while Dems keep dragging the country further to the left (and WWIII). Put a principled conservative agenda forward and make everyone vote on it. Might be surprised when people admit they don't want to see wangers in girls locker rooms, fourth trimester abortions, infinite spending on foreign wars/influence or even notice if half the government hit the unemployment line.

Time for the pendulum to change direction.

The country is being dragged further to the left. That’s complete bullshit.

Guns are everywhere, roe v wade got overturned, the federal tax rate is as low as it’s been in forever, public financing of elections is dead, Citizens United has pumped huge amounts of dark money into the political process, the defense budget is still huge….pretty sure those have been part of the conservative agenda for as long as I’ve been alive.

The present day GOP is basically everything the John Birch Society aspired to.
