This whole time I assumed Thomas was post-op, which doesn't make things much better because he still has all the advantages of being born male...did not realize he still has his junk...and that he was changing in the women's locker room and not bothering to hide his stuff. WTF?! How did officials let this happen at all? Unbelievable. Those girls were absolutely robbed this season, and Thomas should probably be charged for exposing himself. Imagine if a regular man just went into any women's locker room and stripped down, he'd be escorted out by police. This shit is loony.
I thought he had as well. Talk until your blue in the face, but as long as you have the male chromosome, "A rose by any other name is still a rose."

Dicks and vaginas should never be exposed in the same locker room no matter how you feel psychologically about your ding dong or where you want to put it. Hidden dicks don’t belong in woman's sports either.

If we are allowing dicks in womens locker rooms, why are people still wearing clothes in public at all?

Being liberal is a disease.

I think he has some good ideas, but I don't like the universal payments. He'll win a lot of votes with it, but I don't see it helping labor shortages and it can't help inflation.

I don't think that will be a big part of the platform of the Forward Party. My guess would be that they will focus on ranked choice voting. Something we desperately need.

Also on UBI I don't see a reason to think it would hurt with inflation. The plan was never to just print the money needed for it.

Absolutely shameful.

If I had to guess this is push back because Schumer decided to force through a separate giant bill of $430 billion with Biden's climate change and drugs agenda without Republicans. That, or there's a lot of pork going into the bill. From Reuters:

The bill, without Toomey's amendment, came up for a final vote in the Senate late on Wednesday, and it won the support of 55 senators, five votes short of the 60 needed for passage.

The vote took place after news broke that Democrats had reached an agreement on a separate bill that would allow them to pass without Republican votes a $430 billion climate and drugs bill that contained many of President Joe Biden's priorities.

At that point, many Republicans who had initially voted in favor of the bill declined to do so again.
Oddly enough 84 Senators out of 100 initially voted yes on the veteran bill, so either something caught their eye or pushing through the Biden agenda pissed off Senate Republicans I wager. Total speculation on my part. I expect it'll go through again soon, and it better tbh. You don't screw with the veterans.

It's pork related. From NBC:

Sen. Pat Toomey, R-Penn., who voted against the legislation in June, has remained vocally critical of the bill. Yesterday, after the vote, he said that the bill included a “budget gimmick" that moved $400 billion over 10 years from “discretionary to the mandatory spending category,” which he considered unreasonable. His view did not change in Wednesday's vote.

The views of Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., certainly did, however.

Johnson voted for the bill in June, but voted against it on Wednesday. He said in a statement that the bill “opens the door for more reckless government spending."

They're asking for a fix to prevent the PACT Act from being used to increase spending completely unrelated to veterans. A provision was pushed into the bill before it went to the Senate for debate. They said the bill will go through, but they want to shore up the spending provision. They also said the hold up is unrelated to the other climate/drug bill, they'll work and get the PACT Act through regardless. Sounds like Democrats were using the veterans as pawns to try and push through the extra spending.

Unless Stewart is outright lying it seems strange that Toomey wouldn't even meet with the veteran's leadership and explain the problem.

It was an emotional moment. I heard that they had veterans there at the Capitol expecting the vote to go through like it did the first time and to celebrate, but the extra provision changed the bill. I like Stewart, he's fought not just for veterans but 9/11 responders to get the help they should have always had.

I don't think Stewart is lying. Given what Ulukinatme posted, it appears this was last minute and he and others on the outside weren't aware of what was happening.

Another good example of why bills should not include items/proposals that don't closely relate to the main provision of the bill.

They are pissed about Manchin allowing that climate and inflation bill to proceed. No doubt about that at all. Its all over fox news. He sandbagged Mitch so hard on that. John was right about the GOP too.. hypocrites. They have no problem for discretionary pork spending with no oversight on the "WAR" but taking care of vets after the fact is too bad so sad. Thanks for your service. Thoughts and prayers

Climate change = woke leftist made-up thing. So it's just common sense that any spending for it is bad.

The bill is still going to go through, one way or the other. I tried to look at the details on the Senate site, but the last action was dated 6-16 and said it was going to the House so I don't think it's up to date there.
FWIW, I heard there's also a bill being introduced by Republicans to set a mandatory 5 day waiting period on new legislation to allow Congress to read and examine bills before they get voted on. Probably should have been introduced a long time ago.

I have no idea why they voted against it. I also see plenty of crickets on Biden’s long list of failures.
They voted against it because they didn’t want dems scoring political points and don’t give a shit about vets.

What’s to be said? He sucks. I wish he wouldn’t have won the nomination. I hope he doesn’t run again.

Happens both ways. Why are we so shocked? It’s politics.
