You see the WI Supreme Court turnout?
Yes. I thought it was supposed to be close.

Status quo in the village and surrounding villages. Whack jobs didn't get into office thankfully.

I was very focused on our school board elections, which turned out to be an absolute run riot for the four candidates who actually give a shit about education, two of whom were incumbents. The four slapdicks who ran on their jackwagon platform of ignorance were completely blown out in both counties and were beaten soundly in most precincts. Best sleep I've had in weeks that their stupid shit doesn't resonate where I live. Relief beyond measure.

My state just elected a woman to State Superintendent who was known to have gotten a sham education degree from Bob Jones University. SMH

There is a new bar that has been set. Unless they are claiming they worked for Goldman Sachs, founded an animal charity, claimed their Mom's death was related to 9/11 and their Grandma was Holocaust victim, I can't get too worked up.

Well I’d normally not get worked up but this woman has control over the entire state education system and she literally has a sham education degree and all the big players in the state basically willed her into the position (I wonder why?). In any event it’s a terrible concern

Law and Order! Voting doesnt amtter anymore to GOP. They just gonna do whatever they can to stay in power. Gross.

Again, this isn't unique to either party. Just one Presidential election ago the Democrats rigged their own Primary to get Hillary on the ballot. These are politicians, they're cut from the same cloth and will go to all kinds of lows to keep the establishment in power.

I must have missed the concern when Sam Thompson of NJ flipped.
He announced he was switching parties, seeking another four year term. Two weeks later he decided not to run. He's also 87 years old and should probably consider retirement anyway.

Cotham served in the NC House for ten years through 2016, then was gone entirely out of office. She just got re elected and was sworn back in come January.

If these details are in fact correct, there is a difference between the two. If you ran in November and got sworn in this past January only to flip parties, it has the look and feel of a bait and switch. Thompson said, "I'm running again but this time as a Dem" only to decide two weeks later he's not running at all.

There needs to be repercussions for this one way or the other. Again, why even vote? Which is what quite a few of these assholes want to begin with.

Repercussions for what, exactly? Vote for people, not for party. If she thinks she can be a more effective legislator as a (presumably) moderate or liberal republican, what's the problem?

People donating to her campaign under false pretenses. Unless she's keeping the same platform, which seems unlikely.

I feel like you do not so this without some sort of agreement for compensation and or politics power. Her constituents should be livid. Her district is a solidly blue part of Charlotte. Solid blue. They would never vote for a Republican in her area.

There's a difference, but I was more concerned with the lack of immediate outrage from our friend when it was first announced.

There should be a law that if you want to switch parties, you can't do it until your term is up.

That's great! Nobody should be helping a minor do something like that without their parent's consent. It's NOT the state's or anyone else's place to circumvent the parents' decisions about how their child should be raised as long as they are within the law. Someone helping a minor get an abortion against the parents' will needs to go straight to jail. It's not their place to do that.

You forgot your italics, cack. Please tell me you don't actually believe this story lol
I said I dont know the facts. It was the first thing I said. Its trending. Why would this woman do this? She says her son was taken by Fla government officials. I think this would be pretty easy to debunk if its not the case.

If I make a tweet claiming my son got arrested for sharing an internet meme and sending my spouse out of state for safety, will you reshare it even though I'm not a Democrat?

Are you a protected whistleblower? Again it should be pretty easy to debunk.
