Make it simpler by avoiding the question? I will make it simpler-er. Get a group of employees together to publicly talk bad about your boss you deserve to be fired.
lol ok - so everyone who is on the other side of me and my opinions, was crying about how certain twitter users got banned for violating TOS, and now are championing Musk for firing employees.

It would have been easier for some to take the position that violating a TOS or employment agreement (which these employees likely did) is wrong and deserves the consequences. But now it's a tad hypocritical for those same people to be cheering it on when happens to people they don't agree with.

Now you can circle back to my question.

Is this really your “gotcha” moment?

I have always been firm on Twitter doing what they wanted as a company. In the process pointing out a person like Trump getting a ban while world dictators and terrorists still being platformed. Also criticizing their slant politically in use of TOS.

I agree with you Mr Psaki on the basis of “freedom of speech” not being applied to private business but to government.

I’ll add… The difference between these two scenarios was Twitter used it’s TOS for it’s own political weapon and used it’s TOS to essentially discriminate by party. Elon is simply firing people that talked shit about him publicly. Big difference, two entirely different arguments.

So what you're saying is they are reaping what they sowed with their actions, despite losing their positions based on their letter.

I agree with this position. Just ironic free speech advocates changing their tunes and all.
Since this point is lost on everyone free speech, first amendment, et al only applied when the government is involved to suppress speech

Some of those comments, geez,…

The ‘we can act like this because your votes hurt me’ or ‘I can be intolerant to you because I’m calling you intolerant’ stuff always pisses me off,… ANY freaking vote can negatively impact someone else, (like my father being left to die bc Obamacare for example) it still doesn’t make me better than anyone or vice versa. These people and their perceived self righteousness on literally any issue is so damned off putting. They literally (out loud) think they can do the very things they complain are being done to them to others bc some narcissistic sense of self importance.

Agree. How they determined that free speech is somehow a shield from all repercussions is always baffling.

Yeah the argument should also be on the application of the TOS standards for these things. I'm not sure on the actual enforcement split since my echo chamber has said it's heavily skewed against the Left, and the other side says it's against them.

Not sure how you would even measure something like that with supporting data. I think we can all agree that social media needs much better regulations on data protection and TOS integrity.

Watch one Youtube video on any fringe side and next thing you know I'm building pipe bombs lol.

Most states have an "employment at will" law which allows a company to let someone go for pretty much any reason. TOS is typically spelled out in the employee manual which most companies require an employment to read and sign.

I'm pretty sure that Toronto was using the term TOS exclusivly related to social media posts and the fact that Twitter, Facebook, etc can do whatever they want as it relates to people that violate their TOS. As Toronto alluded to, the problem is that violations of TOS are not equally applied.

As it relates to employment, it is perfectly reasonable for an owner, general manager, president etc etc to terminate someone's employment for badmouthing the company (or it's leadership) publicly. They have a product and reputation to protect.

I guess I read it wrong or should I say I read it right and interpreted it wrong? lol

Thanks for the clarification.

These are hard times for woke white women who refuse to acknowledge their role in the devastation caused by Biden.
Yep. She votes against the $1.689/gal president and for the $4.649 dolt, but it's the religious right's fault it now costs her $98 to fill up her car.

I’d be legit curious to hear the logic (not the lib emotional screaming) of how this is all the religious right’s fault,… it seems so out of left field but I’m sure there’s some real or imagined connection

I’m guessing a CEO of a gas company owns a Bible or said God dammit… thus religious zealot label was then cast.

If Texas secedes, who takes the two open SEC slots? Gotta be Ohio State and Clemson, no?

Some dude on Twitter started talking about this today. He made the claim that if Texas seceded that the Democrats would win every election for the rest of time. Are people really this stupid? I don't care if it's California, Texas, you could throw two or three states in there from one side and it'll never happen. You might see one party in power for a small stretch, but there's no way it would last. For one, the other side would be bound to change policies eventually and start pandering to other groups to win votes. On top of that, the law of averages says things are bound to get worse for whoever is in power eventually. People are then going to look for answers and switch sides. Bottom line, in a two party system one side is always going to gravitate back to the middle if they lose power. There's too much money involved for one side to rule indefinitely. There will always be a counter swing.

I don't think it would be incredibly wise for anyone to leave the Union right now. I'd like to think I'm stating the obvious, but I get the impression some folks would probably disagree with me.

I saw the same on Twitter and my first thought was: "UT and TAMU would leave a void in the SEC." Shows how serious I took it.

At any rate, I just came back to the board after a long time, so the last thing I want to do is get run off by fucking around up here in these threads.

The two party system would remain in some fashion, but Texas seceding would cause a missive shift in the Overton window.

While it almost certainly won't happen I do think we are getting to the point of no return in terms of ever being a unified people again... I mean we can't even agree on when to teach sexuality in schools or what makes a man actually is etc without insisting the other side are Nazis or pedophiles.... if we can't find consensus on things that used to be so easy like that then good luck with health care, the size and scope of the gov etc... I don't have any answer but my cynicism for this country and it's ability to stay together is basically at an all time high.

Only good thing to happen under Bidens presidency: Roe overturned. All he’ll be remember for is tripping on steps, slurring words, high gas prices, and well, being president when the Supreme Court overturned the proudest court decision in leftist history 😂
