The extreme right groups are more focused on Salem, Oregon's capital, and the Governor's residence there since the election stolen from Trump. Two groups - Willamette Action Collective, Rose City Antifa and other groups and hundreds of the Proud Boys/Trump supporters held separate rallies with police presence to maintain order, especially after the some Trump supporters attacked BLM protestors at the Capital. Trials are pending for the two arrested.

Extra police were called out for the post-election rally. The "left" event was part of the Pacific Northwest Community Action Network's "Week of Action" focusing on issues like affordable housing, mutual aid and police reform.
Altogether, four arrests were made of individuals that day - two on suspicion of assault and two on suspicion of disorderly conduct. This was when Trump was tweeting "I WON THIS ELECTION, BY A LOT" and his baseless claims of election fraud.

Jo Rae Perkins, who ran unsuccessfully as a Republican against Democrat Jeff Merkley for U.S. Senate and is a QAnon advocate, said to the crowd at the Capital:

"This is an appeal to Heaven. We need to pray for Trump, for his family and for his Cabinet."

Michael Cross, who ran unsuccessfully as a Republican against Democratic Oregon Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum, rallied the crowd.

"We have not begun to fight, have we? We cannot let them take our state or take our nation. We cannot let our freedom die."

Kate Brown has had death threats since she was elected over the last four years and militia groups threatened her and Democratic legislators after a Republican walkout over a climate change bill in 2018. She always has State Police protection though.

Just before Thanksgiving, Gov Kate Brown issued her lock-down order due to rising Covid rates, they appeared and marched to the Governor's residence with many armed and reportedly containing some of the Proud Boys in the "Defeat the Steal and Defy the Lockdown" as hundreds rallied in protest. Demonstrators were encouraged to bring dishes, such as turkey and pies, for a sharing buffet and were pictured sitting at rows of tables or under tents amid the afternoon drizzle in Salem in front of the Capital, the Statesman Journal (Salem) reports.

Announcing the changes, Brown said:

"Until COVID-19 vaccines are widely available, health and safety precautions will remain in place so that schools, businesses and communities can reopen, and stay open."

"At every risk level, to prevent COVID-19 outbreaks, Oregonians must continue to wear face coverings, watch their physical distance, wash hands, stay home when sick and keep social get-togethers and gatherings small."

The rains have come to Oregon, but many of the same Trump supporters have not left the area around the Governor's residence, setting up in tents. A friend who lives a block away says she has begun to get concerned and frightened at times as many who have stayed walk around the neighborhood. She says when the Gov is there, there are State Police who keep them in line, though. Trump's exhortation to "Rise Up" and continuing repetition of baseless claims that Republicans politicians in states are also colluding in stealing the election have not helped.

Portland Police at this type of protest regularly check for loaded weapons and whether someone has a concealed carry permit, but there are no reports that Salem police did that which makes residents uneasy. No one has been arrested for violating those. Only the four arrests have been made. Eventually, the Trump supporters will leave the neighborhood and accept the Trump defeat without any further incidents resulting in arrests or displays.

The Seattle Police Officers Guild (SPOG) President Mike Solan is now the subject of an internal investigation for recent tweets — including one Friday saying the “far right and far left are responsible for that sad day”.

A day after the insurrection, Solan retweeted a tweet from Andy Ngo, a conservative Portland blogger critical of Black Lives Matter and leftist causes, identified one of the participants among the Capitol mob as “an extreme BLM activist.” Solan added his own comment to the retweet, saying that as the mainstream media “tells us who to blame for yesterday’s #troubles, @MrAndyNgo continues to be reliable.”

City officials and the Washington State Fraternal Order of Police have denounced his statements.

Police unions and law enforcement organizations from across Illinois were united on Saturday in opposition to a broad criminal justice overhaul proposed by the Illinois Legislature's Black Caucus, including removal of so called "qualified immunity".

The murder of Laquan McDonald on October 20, 2014, in Chicago, Illinois, was fatally shot by Chicago Police Officer Jason Van Dyke. Police had initially reported that McDonald was behaving erratically while walking down the street, refusing to put down a knife he was carrying with internal police investigation judging it a justifiable shooting and to Van Dyke not being charged at that time. The dash cam video was not released until a court ordered the police to release it a year later. It showed McDonald had been walking away from the police when he was shot and was not any threat to the police.

A United States Department of Justice civil rights investigation into McDonald's death and the activities of the Chicago Police Department released its report in January 2017, describing the police as having a culture of "excessive violence", especially against minority suspects.

I have worked both in law enforcement and I have been a social worker. You would think they have mutually exclusive goals but its so far from the truth. Police tend to be right to far right and social workers tend to be left and far left.
