He may be my favorite

I think he's significantly more likely to be our next coach than Fleck (unless Franklin leaves Penn State and they hire Rhule this year.) Comparable resume, if not better. Probably a better fit personality-wise.

Because it took triple OT for him to sneak past a 4-5 TCU.

By that logic, there doesn’t need to be a Fleck thread either as his team squeaked by worst teams than TCU. Winning is hard.

Holy shit...that is a big boy. Do you know if he plays or is he just the first off the bus?

He's a guaranteed transfer to LSU, Bama, Clemson or OSU If he wants to be paid before the courts allow It.

This thread was created today as he was beating the number 4 team in the country, not the week he struggled with Fresno state.

If they beat @Iowa next week and beat Wiscy to close out the regular season, sign me up as long as OSU doesn't beat them by more than 14 in the CC.

I'd take either at this point. Fleck is my 1A, Rhule 1B. If Frames Janklin ends up at USC and Rhule ends up at PSU then I want Meyer or Fleck in that order.

Rebuilding Baylor from a gutted sanctioned program coming off awful scandals with 0 ties to a state that is one big Old Boys Club, is far more impressive to me than winning games in the Big Ten West. Even considering the win against PSU

Baylor may have been "gutted", but the fact remains they have 14 4* players on their roster, which is 3x as many as Minnesota. While stars aren't the end all be all, they are a fair barometer of a teams overall talent. Fleck is doing more with less, guess we'll see tho cuz they still have games @Iowa and vsWISC.

Fleck is talented, no doubt. It will be interesting to see how he finishes out the season.

I mean if they win out and somehow get into the CFP, I'd love to see his gameplan and coaching against a vastly superior team talent-wise, and arguably superior coaching.

Sure but Fleck didn’t inherit a dumpster fire. Minnesota was trending up before the seizures prevented their HC from continuing & then Claeys maintained that trend before having to step down.

I mean, it's definitely an intriguing possibility. I like the underdog role he has embraced with his team. Let's see if they can sustain the hunger.

Both seem to have their programs turned around and are both undefeated. Rhule doesn't have a marquee win yet though. If Baylor had beaten Oklahoma today and Minnesota played Rutgers we'd have a Matt Rhule thread on the front page instead.

Big win for Fleck, who needed to prove they weren't just picking up wins against crummy talent in Sept and Oct. I'd like to see him consistently challenge these big boys (Doesn't have to win them all) before he's considered as a BK replacement. Even then, I wouldn't oust BK for Fleck, not at this time anyway. If he shows consistency and BK moves on or retires, then lets talk. Beating Wisconsin again should be within their ability, they were able to do it last year.

Penn St. is ALWAYS so friggin' overrated. They are a joke of a team.

Great win for Minnesota though being the first to f them on the 3 loss train that is always run on them before season's end.

They're certainly not as good as their record showed. They scraped by both Iowa and Pitt. They were lucky to escape Michigan. They're going to get destroyed by Ohio State.

Rhule's run at Temple is more impressive than what he's done at Baylor. Baylor was regularly a powerhouse in the Big 12 under Briles. It was an awkward position to walk into, but it wasn't like the cupboard was bare. Rhule managed to lose almost all their games in 2017. That's pretty bad, it makes BK's 2016 collapse look acceptable when you only have 1 win at Baylor. They lost to UTSA and Liberty that season, only beating Kansas. Their 2016 late season collapse wasn't great either.

It’s an interesting debate as to who’s had better results between Fleck and Rhule. Could see it either way. I just think Rhule has the better temperament for coaching at Notre Dame. Fleck’s style would burn out fast.

I hope Minnesota wins the Big Ten West. Maybe even knocks off Ohio State. But I think, with a month to prepare, Clemson or LSU or Bama would absolutely demolish them. It would be 2012 National Championship game style but Minnesota doesn’t have Teo, Tuitt and Tyler Eifert.

Rhule took a terrible situation and completely turned it around. He has impressed me.

Im just so impressed with what Fleck has done with poor talent.

I meant he took Kelly's scraps and made a captain out of it (MDT).

Or..............Would he usher in a change to landscape of our home games to actually catch up with most of the rest of CFB and provide a hostile environment to our opponents and give us an actual home field advantage. A change that a large portion of our fans desire. A change that could excite the fans, the staff, the players, and the recruits. A change we would see on the field.
I'm not saying fire BK. I'm not saying send a Brinks truck for Fleck. But I don't see a reason to believe his motivational style would burn out fast. BK's red face, screaming, over dramatic gestures towards his players hasn't burned out. I can't imagine someone being over excited and over positive deep rooted in who he is and paired with a very personal situation from his personal life being a huge issue for anyone. As long as he can keep it in his pants, he'd be fine.
