An Indy radio station is reporting that Manning had a 3rd neck surgery on Sunday and is definitely out for the season.

I'm curious about something,someone clear this up for me....

He waited to get his neck worked on until after the lockout ended so he could do it with the team doctors...

Why in the world would he do this?!?!?! He had months upon months to go to the best PT's
and surgeons in the world to get this taken care of....and instead waits(which could've made it much worse) and does it with team doctors?

I'm sure the team doctors are just fine....but I just can't imagine why he'd do that.

Actually, this helped my team as my starting (and only) QB was previously David Garrard (note: autodrafting due to work + live draft with 6 females in a 12 team league = great RBs, great WR and no quarterbacks - thanks ESPN) .

So I get to pick between Kerry Collins, whoever is starting for Jacksonville/Carolina, and Alex Smith. Bring on Collins!

I just watched the Top 100 Players of All Time yesterday. Peyton came in at number 8. There were only two quarterbacks ahead of him.

I hope this isn't the end of his career, but if it is he was certainly one of the greatest players ever.

I wouldn't go anywhere near Peyton in fantasy...the fact that they brought in an old vet 2 weeks before the season to learn an incredibly complex playbook shows you that it's not a short term fix...that Peyton will be out for a significant period of time...otherwise you float through 2 or 3 games with Painter and manage til Peyton gets healthy...

My live party fantasy draft...he was in it til about the 10th round.

I was exaggerating, but David is not the type of QB i want for a quick fix.

Collins could easily play a whole season, if need be (I pray not).

I had dreams of the Colts playing in the Super Bowl in their own stadium. Instead, I'm afraid we will be competing with Carolina for the #1 draft pick. This year I guess we will truly get to see how "valuable" Peyton Manning is.

I think this is the start of the end for P Manning. As a Colts fan, this is Dooms day for our team. He is the team and everyone in the NFL nation will see that this year. Will be lucky to get 2-3 wins. I want our team to be successful but without manning its not looking good. Here's to the #1 draft pick: Andrew Luck.
