Farley to Safety.. There's going to be some real nice depth at this position. Farley, Prosise, Barratti, Shumate, Turner and Motta/Slaughter/McCarthy as the upperclassmen.

I have to believe Russell ends up at corner. Bennett, Lo, Josh and Jalen... and wow.. Just noticed Cam McDaniel to CB.. interesting.

I just do not have a good feeling about this upcoming year. We are so weak at corner at the moment. Hopefully the corners stay healthy and play big time football!

Well, it's more fun to be pleasantly surprised than let down.

Teams have won more with less talent. Just because we haven't seen them play, doesn't mean they aren't good enough. Remember, Mike Floyd said Jalen Brown was a beast in practice covering him.

How dare you leave of Badger.

BTW I complete agree with you that Russell at some point in his career will be moved to corner. His measurables and skill set are perfect for corner.

With this exact schedule? I'll say no.

but with a similar strength of schedule? Definitely.

I agree with Grahambo, every team has their weaknesses, CB is simply ours. Having said that, we have some athletes at the CB position, nothing says one or two wont emerge as a solid player.

CB was our weak position last season, too. Did we get worse at the position? I mean really...did Blanton or Gray really do much for us last season? I highly doubt we get worse, it shouldn't be too difficult to get a little bit better at that position.

Yes it's always concerning, but it's not like we're losing Darrelle Revis and Champ Bailey.

A great pass rush can really hide your deficiencies in the secondary. Ask the NY Giants about that.

No kidding. Antrel Rolle was relegated to the nickleback position because Terrel Thomas was out with an ACL and Prince was out then limited with a foot injury. Aaron Ross is not a two deep corner and best for the nickle. Then we had about 3-4 depth corners hit the IR.

One play in particular that stands out that supports Wooly's statement was during the Green Bay playoff game. Don't remember which part of the game but I think maybe towards the end of the 1st half, Rodgers drops back and has Jennings (maybe Driver) wide open down the side, he slings it back but has it knocked out of his hand by Osi at the last possible second. Would have been a game changing TD.

The rest, as they say, is history.

Hmm interesting about Cam. Anyone know if he played any in high school? I wonder how he took the move. I too am worried about the depth at the position next year. I understand that a good pass rush can go far to help out, but still, might need to see some incoming players try their turn at the position.

I hate that we're in this position again, like we were if I remember under Weis, needing to fill an entire position group in a recruiting year again and having little balance. I understand that we're recovering still from those problems, but I'm definitely worried. Let's hope the young guys at DB step it up.

Still not happy about Shepard screwing us. We had to move McDaniel to corner because he quit. Really down about these corners. There isn't a lockdown guy really, like what Shepard could have been.

I feel Jackson's upside can allow him to be that "lockdown" guy for us...Time will tell

Based on what?

"He is no longer at Notre Dame because he didn't go to class" isn't a popular line used by parents to describe their child's issues. Kelly mentioned in his presser both Bradley (educational records) and HIPPA. Notre Dame has demonstrated before that they're willing to cover for a kid on his exit (Gottlieb, etc.).

Forgive my ignorance but what is Bradley?
