Basically all of CFB sucks this year. This ND team has been a lot less consistent than last year’s yet would have a much easier time of winning in the playoff. Bama is going to be the #1 seed with a team that would lose by 2+ TDs to last year’s Bama team. Just a weird year across the board, and I wonder if it’s a product of COVID weirdness or transfer changes or something else.

As always LAX you nailed it and I think the weirdness is all the things you mentioned. Kinda reminds me of 2007 and as such the nominal champion shall be a 2 loss Les Miles led team

So where is all the noise calling for the team that went undefeated and blown out in the conference championship game to be replaced for the playoffs by the hot 1-loss team at #5?

I believe there were A LOT of those statements one year ago today. I wish I had those receipts. And our beloved Irish split the series with their 1 loss.

Most teams worth a shit lost their qb. Rattler was basically the only returning starter on a team that was supposed to compete lol.

No, it's a product of Alabama being that that much better than everyone else. This year's team beats last year's other three teams by two touchdowns.

Take away several of their starters and they still win it all these last two years.

This was definitely the largest impact on CFB as a whole. Draftable QB class just isn’t very good this year.

“Sucks” idk about that. Lot of good & old defenses this year. We were always going to come down from not so debatably the two greatest CFB offenses of all time in back to back years at some point

Regardless of them being a historic rivals, Michigan’s success is going to be a bitch with recruiting. They’ve already salvaged a class that was slated to finished 15-20 a few months back.

they've been ordinary most of the year. I think last years Clemson, OSU and Bama would win this season and ND would be a chance.

Only team that looked like they didn’t belong in the final four based on todays performances was GA. They were dissected in D and this is the worst GA kiss to Bama in a while. Kirby Smart is a joke as a HC. Give his recruits to Brian Kelly and he would succeed imo. Not looking to give BK any love but rather point out the waste of resources in Kirby’s hands.

Would be dope if Macdonald was one and done DC for them and landed a NFL gig. Gattis is also a Duke candidate.

They won't be better next year, though.

Trevor and Fields would have devoured the Bama secondary.

On the bright side.. Michigan will have to play Georgia AND Alabama. If they win both those games I'd say they earned it.

There'd be no disputing they were the best team in the country.

I just don't see how they beat either with Cade McNamara under center.

Of course the playoff would have been ideal, but I’m okay with the what will be a top 3 finish if ND wins their bowl.

Not crazy about the match up with Oklahoma State in the Fiesta Bowl. Would much rather play Michigan State.

Did....did you watch the Baylor game? OSU QB threw picks unpressured, their OL is not great and their run game is non-existent. Baylor with a backup QB dropped 21 on them in the first half until the backup got hurt and the offense went into a shell. I don’t care who they get honestly, but OkSt is not a great football team

Michigan deserves the 1 seed. Should be Michigan, Bama, Cincy, ND; gonna be Michigan, Bama, Cincy, Georgia

There’s an outside chance that they put us against Pittsburgh in the Peach Bowl which not only would be the most boring matchup but would be the most likely loss for Notre Dame of the three matchups. Peach Bowl is so much less prestigious historically than the Fiesta, and it would be lame as hell to play another ACC team this year.
