Tough spot for the new Admin. They were going to tick off a group of sponsors/donors no matter what they chose. I'm sure the Paterno supporters will start flooding the President's office with letters stating we will never contribute another dime, while others will probably contain vague threats.

Sweet Jesus, why do you people have to throw away every man's lifelong achievements as a penalty of another man's crimes? If he could defend himself, and he had no excuse, them by all means punish him, but this is "guilty until you rise from the dead and prove your innocence"!!

Wow Penn State fans..

I think you're missing the point. It's not throwing away his lifelong achievements as a penalty of another man's crimes. It's due to what he didn't do all the while knowing it was going on under his watch. He can keep his achievements in the record books for all I care. Just don't honor him.

I just can't comprehend why anyone would want the statue to remain.

I say get rid of the statue of Joe and change the helmet stripe to black for the next season. Then move on because while amends must be made letting it fester is just as bad.

The swift timing makes me think the school and NCAA reached some type of agreement.

@BryanDFischer: NCAA release confirms 9 AM ET press conference to announce "corrective and punitive measures" for Penn State.
