I believe in track, athletes who are intersex (typically female anatomy at birth, internal testes) have to take testosterone suppressors to get their levels down to an acceptably range. Would be surprising if that wasn’t at least the same standard for a contact sport like boxing.

You better check your sources. The following is from The Guardian, a rather left leaning British news source. You can also use Google and see that he was indeed tested last year and had XY chromosomes.

BTW, your source for that bit is just an X user, not any sort of news source with any credentials whatsoever. He's just posting his opinion without any evidence. Numerous legit news outlets and the IBA say actual DNA tests confirm he's an XY male.
Those sources are all quoting one person who said she failed a gender test. Those results have never appeared anywhere from what I can tell.

She's been a female her whole life and competed with women for as long as she's been in sports. This must be one incredibly long con.

I don't have access to his birth certificate. Given that genetic testing shows he has XY chromosomes, we can safely assume it probably says male. Whether it does or doesn't is irrelevant. If I own a dog but list it as a cat, does that make it a cat? Of course not. It's a dog regardless of what I or anyone else calls it. The Algerian boxer has XY chromosomes. He's a biological male. You can call him a girl, a pine tree, a rock, or a lightbulb for all I care. That just makes you as deluded as he is.
You're letting your hate block any sort of rational thinking.

Do you REALLY think that she was born and raised in rural Algeria and was somehow able to convince the government to issue her ID's under some sort false pretense? That when she went to represent Algeria in athletic competitions without any sort of medical exams that would have identified anatomical differences between her ID and what the doctor was seeing??

OR could it be, similar to Caster Semenya who had a similar genetic disorder?

You're so blinded by hate that your not directing your "very real" concern about woman's sports at the IOC who is not adhering to your (I'm sure well thought out) testosterone levels that should be set. You just come off as a chronically online hateful person.

Good grief, dude. What hate? I don't hate transgender people. I simply think they're deluded and suffering from a disorder. I'm 100% against biological males competing in sports against women. It's a blatant and obvious disadvantage to the women. You've made one false claim after another in this discussion. He doesn't have a hormone disorder as you originally claimed. He's not a woman. I have no idea how he was raised, nor is it relevant. He has the XY chromosomes of a male. He's a male, period. He has the physical advantages of a male who's gone through puberty, such as masculine bone structure and musculature. What he calls himself, how he was raised, what he thinks, nor anything else is relevant to the point. He's a biological male beating up on women. That you or anyone else defends that is pathetic.

Why would there be any other source other than the IBA, the official organization who tested him? If MLB suspends a player for PEDs, what other organization would be the source for the reason? If the IOC disqualifies someone for PEDs, who else would the source of that info? That he's competed as a girl his entire career is meaningless. He wasn't born a female, and hasn't been a female a single day, let alone his entire life. What he claims or how he competed is totally irrelevant. He was born a male, his DNA says he's a male, and he's beating up on women. Why are you more concerned with defending that than you are with the poor Italian woman who trained for years to get to the Olympics, only to get beaten up by a guy? Have you no shame?

I apologize for letting this derail the main conversation about the Olympics. Toronto & Gattaca, if you want to continue this, let's follow others' suggestions and move it elsewhere.

The IBA doesn't do chromosomal testing. She failed a testosterone test. The only source of her supposedly being trans is an interview the new IBA president, who wasn't the president when she was disqualified, making a comment during a random interview with a Russian news org.

Algeria is one of the least LGBT friendly countries on the planet. Do you really think they would be making official comments saying she was born a female if it weren't the case?

I actually agree with you in principal about this, you just happen to be wrong about her sex.

Forgetting science, the clip provided sure looks like a guy and a girl getting ready to box.

I'm sure she was juiced. She was rightfully disqualified by the IBA and I think it's legitimate to question the IOC's standards. It just doesn't seem like she's actually a dude.

Like 99% of everyone else, I don't think men should be allowed to box women.

That being said, it's really pretty douchey to say "this chick looks like a dude" to discredit a person's achievement. It makes sense that a woman who is genetically predisposed to be the top boxer in the world would look masculine. Brittany Griner looks like a dude, but she is a woman. Everything I've seen online related to gender seems to be speculative and is coming from the corners of the internet who have axes to grind about transgenders in general. I also find it hard to believe that Algeria would have a transgender star representing their country.

I don’t know a lot here but I see our strongest sports ahead. Track and field, wrestling, and some others where we should do very well. Got to beat China for most gold medals. I do know they suck at those two sports and we rock.

So my 4 & 6 year old boys just want to watch women's beach volleyball. "Just tell me when beach volleyball comes back on, but not the men's."
Just waiting for Mom to interrogate the kids ...... "What did Daddy promise to buy you to get you to say that you want to watch only women's beach volleyball?"

She's literally born with the female bits and parts, you're choosing to ignore the fact that when she was born she was issued a birth certificate stating that she was a girl. It wasn't until later in life that she failed those testosterone tests and it was identified that she was intersex.

The reason why you're being hateful is that you don't care about the actual science of the matter, you just want to misgender her because of a genetic disorder she's suffering from. The next reason why you're being hateful is that you know it's up to the IOC to set the rules and regulations on testosterone (See Caster Semanya), but instead of making your very real concern to complain about the IOC you've purposely called her "him".

You want to delude yourself into cooking up these conspiracies that somehow a government who bans anything relating to transgenderism is pushing someone who's transgender to the highest athletic stage in the world just so that they can get a bunch of terminally online people to scream at them about how they're destroying sports.

Don't forget his total disingenuous comparison of a dog being cat. Like changing species is on par to this topic

The IBA tested him last year and he is genetically a male. Again, where he's from, how he identifies, how long he's claimed to be female, what he did in the past, nor any of the rest of it is relevant. He is a male competing against women in a sport where that makes a world of difference. There are sites and bloggers claiming he was only disqualified last year because of testosterone levels, he was born female, and etc. They're spinning, lying to push an agenda, and leaving stuff out. He's not a masculine female. He has been genetically tested by the IBA and is male.

That’s a hell of a dissertation. You must be retired.

Nothing about the test has been released, so we don't know what the test was or what the results were. The IBA's statement is basically just a trust us statement with nothing backing it up. You don't want to have an intellectual conversation about this topic and it's pretty clear by your responses and statements.
