Ohio State is the only team that can stand up to these southern football factories

Well Bama wont be as dominant next season so OSU may have a chance...or maybe its Oklahoma (that is my bet).

They don't even need to be as good. They just need to start pulling some of these kids away from the same three or four teams that ALL of the top kids are going to. Alabama is just other worldly because no one else around them can seem to get it together consistently.

Hard to get it together consistently when Alabama is hovering up a shit ton of elite talent and has the best coach in football.

When blue bloods hire the right guy, that happens. But your narrative of "no one can touch Bama and Clemson" is far from reality.

Comes down right now to those skill guys...watch...by the time ND adjusts to that, the f'ing veer will be back in style and everyone will know how to defend the current offenses lol.

ND probably isn't going to get some of these guys to South Bend under any circumstance, but they are capable of getting some. Hoping we go get them.

Have a feeling they’ll be on the outside looking in but “look” like a contender just like this year. Iowa State deciding to run it back essentially is going to be a thorn in their side.

Alabama is now UCLA of the 1960s and 1970's. Or Iowa in wrestling. Whatever you want to call it

It's not good for college football and I don't know what to do to get everyone on the same playing field. I know there's never been pure parity but this is ridiculous. Saban is going to coach until he's 80 and win 6 or 7 more and then they will spend 10 million a year to get the next Saban.

Oklahoma has so many weaknesses. They might make it to the playoff but out in the 1st game. I think the Pac 12 winner gets that 4th spot next year. OK and OSU are going to lose a couple each.

Exactly. He is not retiring. Too self motivated.

I am guessing the difference between now and 30 year ago is how much is know about the talent coming out of high school ? It has never been easier for the top schools to secure the best talent every year.

Take a deep breath. College football has never been more popular and TV ratings have never been higher. If you love parity, the NFL is there for you.

Saban will continue to bring in the best recruiting classes, no doubt. But let's see what happens with Bill O'Brien trying to replace 2 elite OC's in Kiffin and Sark.

Let's see what Sark can do with Texas.

Let's see if Oklahoma's defense continues to improve.

Let's see if OSU can reload.

Can USC ever get their $hit together? Same with Oregon, Florida, Michigan, FSU, Miami, Penn State. College football is cyclical, man. In the 90s it was ND, Miami, FSU. In the 2000s it was Oklahoma and Florida. Dynasties don't last forever.

Also as much as some people hate the New England Patriots, no one cried when they were in every Super Bowl because Belichick and Brady were better than everyone else.

OSU and Georgia recruit at Bama’s level. They are not Bama. Makes you appreciate the coaching and development

This was my take as well. Bottom line, we're closer to Ohio St. and Clemson, Georgia, then we are to Bama.

Yeah, New England sucks, bunch's cheating fucks. Was nice to see them struggle a bit without Brady.

My parents went to IU so I root for the Hoosiers in basketball, before they gave that up to become a football power ;)

I'm very glad that my teams do more than just pay lip service to trying to things morally and ethically. When Sampson cheated at IU, fans were so upset that he ruined their rep of never being penalized for cheating. It meant a lot to the fans and that means something to me.

Anyway, without compromising our ethics and values I think that we can do a lot more to fill out the skill positions and coaching/analysts and have it compliment our values.

Hmmm.... plus as someone else pointed out, rarely is there ever any conflict in that pairing. But rooting for tOSU, I want their best recruits, not their best effort.

They are in the midwest.

They have to deal with the same cruddy midwest weather that ND does.

I don't think Columbus is on anyone's vacation list.

They hate Michigan as much as I do.

They are committed to their football program and winning Championships.

I think I'm going to adopt them as my other football team. Just like Indiana has always been my other basketball team

This is not the way. They are a competitor to ND, not a friend. I’ll only root for them if it directly helps ND (that is rare). They got lucky catching Clemson the way they did. I will give them credit for taking advantage. Let’s not pretend they are on Alabama’s level (or generally Clemson). They are at the top of the next tier for sure - just above ND, UGA, LSU (sometimes), Michigan (LOL, kidding).

Don’t sell your fan soul rooting for that team. Stay true to ND
