ND was "eliminated" in the public eye. No one knew ND was back in on the recruitment until Loy's crystal ball, and that's when the rest of the services revealed their info.

Ironman straight up told you that he had reason to believe that ND and the Beals wanted the fact that ND was back in to be kept under wraps.

Is that clear enough yet?

No, because it's based on opinion that the visit being known will lead to negative recruiting that may prevent the visit/his interest. Ironman said he didn't know anything behind the scenes other than that that he was holding back. So if it's that, why does that not apply to a kid committed to UCLA who has neg recruited us harder than anyone, and actually stole players who signed LOI's with us?

And Beal has no interest in keeping his ND love quiet, obviously, in visiting for both IIs, committing to ND, declaring them his dream school, and now his camp telling Loy he's visiting again.

I just want every to realize how dumb this 'Loy might have blown it' really sounds. If you're going to apply it to Beal, it should certainly apply to a UCLA commit telling Loy he's visiting for the SAME camp.

No one knew about those plans until Loy dropped the bomb. Ironman already explained why ND might have liked a month of recruiting without outside pressures ramping up. It's basic common sense.

And I just want you to know how dumb it is that you don't understand the difference between the staff wanting something kept quiet, and a kid that is OPENLY telling people that he has interest in ND.

'ND staff might have liked'. They also might not have cared, which is more likely, and we have no reason to believe one or the other. You guys take some crazy theory with no facts and just run with it. It's comical.

I do understand. I also understand we have ZERO reason to believe the staff wants a reoccuring summer visit for Beal to be 'quiet' other than the posts yesterday 'this could be bad but I have no info on why'.

So since we know nothing about how the staff feels, why 'might the staff not want Hunter's visit announced'? And why can't we get pissed about this too?

If you can't read between the lines, then there is no helping you.

Loy messed up, and now you're on the crusade against all of us crazies that can see how he messed up. Same song and dance as usually happens when Loy messes up.

LOL, there's no reason to believe he messed up anything. Beal hasn't complained, ND hasn't complained, Beal couldn't be more open about his ND love. Ironman had a theory based on a gut feel, which is completely fine, but you guys are running with it as if it's true from every side.

I think the ND staff would have preferred to recruit Hunter quietly up to II, so I think Loy really screwed ND there too. I have no facts on this. Who wants to run with me!

Housewives watching a Bachelor marathon today would laugh at how you guys run with a rumor based on nothing beyond a gut feel.

Time to give it a rest.

Yeah, I'm done with it. It's just silly to me how nothing is actually reported, it's based on someone's feeling (which is totally fine to share), and all of a sudden we've gone from 'I wonder if this will help the SEC neg recruit in the meantime', to the 'ND staff is pissed off at Loy, he screwed us by reporting the visit, and this might cost them Beal', without a damn bit of substance other than someone's opinion.

The game of telephone is eternal. I'll leave it at that.

Ironman did not say he had a gut feeling. He said he knew for a fact that other reporters kept it quiet because they were specifically asked to by someone with an interest in the situation.

Whether or not keeping it quiet is a good idea is a valid debate, and you have already made your points on that. But what is not debateable is that Loy revealed information that someone, presumably the coaching staff, preferred not to reveal.

You have gone full circle and are now claiming Ironman made something up, and that's not true.

It's not a feeling. I explained that. You read and remember what you want to. It's cool.

I am very much hoping you are right and you can call me crazy if Beal signs with ND.

That's news to me. If someone wants to share that post, feel free, I'll read it.

If Loy blows our chance here because he has to be the first one to 'break' something I'm going to be furious. He was not the first person to know this, but better reporters kept this under wraps for a reason.

Very first post that started this whole thing....

Thanks for sharing. I'd like to know the reason for the other reporters allegedly holding onto the news that they knew he'd visit when Beal couldn't be more open about his interest in ND.

Beal and ND haven't been connected since his decommitment and then leaving ND off of his top-5 list, unless I've missed something.

Go back and read every post since the first post Ironman made about this. We have literally went over this.

He did leave them off his top 5 list. But it's not like after being committed to ND, interest back in ND would be shocking to anyone. At least not IMO.

FWIW, he reached out to ND to see if they'd be interested after him and his sister allegedly decided they don't have to go to school together.

EVERYBODY STOP WHAT THEY'RE DOING AND ANSWER KOON'S QUESTIONS!!!

Aren't you guys sick of doing this every. single. week.? Everyone on the site having to debate whatever Koon's bizarre point is this week? I mean, it's tiring.

I agree, I should be banned for not buying into the Loy-screwed us debate.

Beal will visit for II. The staff will have their chance at him. All of this Loy drama will be for nothing, yet again.

It's not a flawed position of understanding. Looking at the totality of circumstances, I don't buy that Loy saying that Beal is visiting again hurts ND's chances. Regardless of some 3rd party person someone found who said it might. There's too much pro-ND from Beal's side to think it matters.

I bet he visits. And I bet the reporting of the visit is again, peanuts.

You're "not buying" the very distinct, clear point that Ironman (a longtime respected poster) detailed in several posts? Or not buying the proceeding posts from all of the other posters agreeing with him?

Is it tiring for you to constantly be the antagonist? You literally stand for anything that has widespread opposition. It's your schtick, I get it. But it makes you incredibly unlikeable. Just never knew if that is what you are going for or if it is entirely by circumstance?

It might not hurt at all, you're right.

But the fact that it even MIGHT is the whole point, and what you aren't understanding. That's where Loy messed up. That's it. That's the whole thing. He DID mess up. And it's not the first time.

I stand for what makes sense, not jump with the crowd on a hot topic unless it again, makes sense.

I don't think Loy reporting a visit from a ND commit who made the same visit last year matters one bit, or will play a factor in his recruitment, no matter who heard something from somewhere from one person. You guys can jump on that train, I'm not a follower. I look at the whole picture, and this will be peanuts IMO.

Actuallly For maybe the first time ever, I don't disagree with Koon... Loy did his job... He got information and reported it. If someone wants to say he made something up, or lied about something, then sure, crucify the man... But reporting about a players interest, when there is interest, saying he is going to a camp that he is indeed going to, is his job.

His job isn't to help ND keep away negative recruiters or people attacking Nd with Beal. Be better recruiters and get this kid signed and stop worrying about Loy reporting on your moves
