Pulling out the vacuum cleaner. Getting ready to clean house. Don't know if I can bear to watch the finish.

Regardless, Rees has played one HELL of a game for a freshman.

We need to put some points on the board. They are getting way too many chances to take the lead.

The problem here is that Rees cannot seem to complete a pass that goes further than ten yards in the air. All of these passes are really short, and it's dramatically effecting the play calling.

While we are seeing the same distance of throws as we saw with Dayne, those were largely check downs. With Tommy, he's only thrown one long ball and it was really bad.

He's showing some huge positives right now, the ability to throw on the run, accuracy on short throws, and great poise for an 18 year old kid. Hopefully this is a confidence and knowing the playbook thing and he improves. But today, it's not helping us with third and long situations.

Defense needs to step up here, don't want to have to see the offense playing from behind in the fourth quarter.

Am I nuts to drive 8 to 10 hours to go to the Utah game with my son? He's seen one game with me years ago against Stanford in Palo Alto. We lost.

Oh, h-e-l-l, it'll be a good time showing him around campus, even though my dorm no longer exists. He's old enough to have a drink or three with me now.

The offense needs to loosen up and the defense clamp down. Rees shows promise. Go Irish! I hope for the best. I'd rather not curse and cry in front of my son and his college buddy.

That's true to an extent, but he's hit his throws down the seam which were farther than ten yards. The longer outs and comebacks have been problems, but he's been good enough in the center of the field. Those longer routes require more timing and repetition with the first team, which he hasn't gotten.
