I respect the game in and of itself. I hate having to line up against them after Ken became coach. They play to win and in a dirty football type of way.

I hate the Navy game. I've had people ask me how I could be a sailor and dislike Navy. It's really quite simple. The Naval Academy football team is just that. Midshipmen being indoctrinated to think they're better than enlisted people and come out into the fleet as complete douchebag pieces of shit that would throw anyone under the bus to get an inch ahead. Burn out their best people and then throw them away when they're done with them.

All the best officers I've met and/or served with were either A) mustangs (former enlisted) or B) graduates from colleges NOT named The U.S. Naval Academy. Every Academy grad has been a terrible human being, through and through.

Now, you couple that with the dirty pool, chop blocking, career ending knee spears Ken & Co. throw at you.. well, this should clarify things perfectly:

I meant more like the play back and forth between watching the defense stop the option and ND facing Navy's defense, which has been pretty solid these past few years.

I don’t see any benefit in playing them. If you beat them....well, duh, there’s no excuse not to w/ all the disparity in talent. If they’re truly a rival, there’s a sense of rivalry “hate” but I don’t have that when thinking of Navy b/c it’s so one-sided. SCum? Hate ‘em. scUM? Hate ‘em. Stanford? Hate ‘em. Sparty? Hate ‘em. Navy? Meh.

I foresee a separation between the P5 schools & the G5 schools at some point. If so, all the academies should be in their own league w/ rest of G5. If not, bump them down to the FCS. They’ll never have the talent to be a top 10 team or compete nationally. In the FCS, they will.

Lastly, cut blocks should be prohibited. Any team that has to face Navy gets an interruption to everything they practice and plan for on a weekly basis b/c they’re doing Navy the favor of scheduling them as they compete for a national title. There’s a reason no other nationally contending team plays an academy on a regular basis.

I'd drop Stanford 1000x's and never play the Skunks before I'd drop Navy.

If Crusader had Jack's office the yearly schedule would look like

Vandy / Northwestern rotation

Pitt - every year like Bama and Tennessee do it.

4 other ACC Games

Rice / SMU / Tulane - 2 or 1, home and away rotation for variety

Notre Dame has been at least a 20-point favorite over Navy 18 times. The Irish are 4-14 ATS as 20-point favorites vs Navy, which includes a 24-17 win last year as a 20.5-point favorite. The Irish have also failed to cover the last 3 games in which they were a 20-point favorite

I only saw a few plays. Good and bad. He pushed a guy 5-7 yards downfield on a 40-yard TD run but didn't finish the block. The RB ran through the huge hole he created but he stopped blocking his guy and the defender could have tackled the RB but I don't think he saw him coming. He didn't seem aggressive on the few plays I saw but they were winning big so maybe he wasn't worried about dominating.

He was also playing RT which I have seen on hudl tape but weird for a high level P5 recruit.

I don't think he plays again until the Thanksgiving game on 11/22 as far as I can tell.

I guess he is listed 6'7"+ but he isn't the tallest player on his team. I think there are at least 2 players taller. Maybe he gave Drew a couple inches as someone asked in Drew's thread?

Grew up Irish/Italian Catholic in downtown Indy in an ethnic parish. If you were Irish, you were a fan. If you were Catholic, at all, you were a fan. Didn't matter what house you went to, the game was on. Wouldn't matter what college I went to, ND would always be a clear #1. ND since birth. Those kinds don't become blue hair fans, rich grads do.
