I don't know why (normally realistic to pessimistic range) but I have a weird feeling that today's the day Ian is going to breakout this year with a 300+ yard day.
Probably not a ton of deep balls, but more quick screens/tunnels (that we didn't see against Lville).

Any "soft tissue" reports? ESPN is so brutal, zero objectivity, only pure hatred for ND.

I’m not sure I have a problem with them saying we’re not a top 5 team. We’re only a 10 pt favorite against a 3-3 team. OSU is favored by 4 TDs today, Clemson by 7!!

We have elite pieces and potential and that’s a thing for a believer like me to hold onto. If all these pieces fall in place, we could be elite.

But right now, we’re not. And it’s more likely the pieces don’t fall in place than they do.

I have a strong feeling many Irish fans will be upset come tomorrow.

O$U is probably going to blow out Nebraska. And even if ND covers over Pitt..... the pollsters will probably move O$U into the top 4.

It will need at least equal performances (pt diffs) for ND to remain ahead, and perhaps not even then I think.

IDK, I think most expect OSU to jump us at some point if they roll. The pre-covid outlook on both teams had a decent delta.

This is what makes polls - indifferent?

and by indifferent I'm meaning - those that have been playing shouldn't be penalized because you (Big10) come in play your first game and jump those that are undefeated.

The Irish - Kelly especially, need a statement game. With the Big10 starting today...

THIS needs to be the game IF the Irish are rolling BK needs to keep the foot on the gas.

Lol OSU deserves to be ahead of ND if they win today, come on.

If O$U was playing P$U and double-digit then I would agree....

But not against Nebraska unless they lay a lot of points on them and the Irish fall short of the spread.... which I believe the Irish is not going to do.

My thoughts are is the Pitt D is going to get tired - really quick due to the Irish D keeping Pitt's offense on the sideline.

IDK. We have the advantage of already playing and a higher ranking, so really doesn't matter. We're not being penalized IMO. We just need to win and look the part. If we lay a turd today and OSU rolls, I won't be bothered one bit getting jumped. I mean, right now we're riding our name and pre-season ranking. Top 5s don't look like we did last week and struggle against a Pitt team that looks mediocre at best this year.

I don't disagree at all with you on that. I'm just saying there will be rumblings - somewhat rightfully so.

BTW - I will be watching the O$U/Neb game.

Be on the lookout for Browning and Werner for O$U....

Louisville up 17 on FSU at half who beat undefeated UNC last week. Winning can be hard and it ain't always pretty.

I expect the Irish to win by double digits today in a bounce back game. And still run for 150ish against a top run defense.

Oh, and I'm in my gear again this week so we got that going for us.

??? He has caught one ball

He has, but even with the limited action, I can say he's our best receiver.

That's both a testament to his talent, but more so, a testament to how poor our receivers have been so far this year.

We've seen enough from McKinley to know he is nothing more than a good blocking receiver, who on most days, is a complete non-factor in the passing game.

At this point, if we can't find someone better than that, there's bigger issues going on.
