If this is the play you're thinking of, the timestamp for the play is 1:54.

Watching the full clip, that power running game was on fire. They kept talking about Edwards at FB, but that line was creating holes he basically walked through. The D was laying the wood and that middle screen was a thing of beauty.

It was,... a glorious time. The Irish wins were all over the place. It was before the 2001 Fiesta Bowl and before Pete Carroll decided to take on the NCAA and start a war. It was when we met the world, it was when we all met Coach Lou Holtz. He couldn't have given anymore than one or two crazy pre-game rambles at the time but he was already a legend. Whenever he'd walk into a locker, players just went wild. He give the fullback six carries a game just for opening the holes. He'd give 100 yard rushing games to backup running backs and part time split ends just for keeping their uniforms on. Holtz was one of the most feared Trojan killers in the country...

There was Zorich and Watters and Rice and there was Anthony Johnson... Rodney Culver.... And then there was Tony Brook's brother, big Reggie. And his guys Linsday the Knapp And Demetrius DeBose... And then there was Bobby Taylor who was Sally Balls' brother... And you had Jerome Bettis And Jeff Burris And Rocket Two-Times, who got that nickname because he scored everything twice like "I'm gonna run it back against Michigan, run it back against Michigan."

Rest in peace, Rodney Culver.

Need some help from you more media savvy fans.....
Check out the 1973 Eric Penick 85 yard TD vs Trojans on YouTube. My friend and I were sophomores in high school. We sold game programs ($1 apiece) at ND games. We would take a 100 program allotment, sell 90 and turn our $$ in (you had to do that INSIDE the stadium). We would not leave the stadium, and would sell the remaining 10 programs inside he stadium and pocket our $10 portion. We did that for every game.
So, for this particular game, we had gotten ourselves down on the field in the north endzone field benches. When Penick busted loose, he headed right for us. In the video, you can see the first people to greet Penick in the endzone were me and my cohort. Then, Penick was engulfed by a mob.
The rest of the story?......my friend had the ball! He had snatched it from Penick in the mayhem. Still has it today.
We also ended up on the cover of the SB Trib the next morning.
That run ran as a trailer for years on ESPN....
Maybe someone can post it?

Thanks YJ! Remember that like it was yesterday.

To add on to the story...my friend and I attended the same HS as the son of the ND SID. So, of course on Monday at school our "episode" was all soon known by all. ND tried like hell to get that ball, but my friend never gave it up and still has it today.

I love Alohi and his attitude. Even on a simple tackle over the middle, the guy is a gamer.

JOK is a nasty, but completely unblocked makes it pretty easy. He's too fast...
