That and this would be the 5th LSU/Bama game that I have attended in the last 10 years. Its not as big of a deal for me...not like when they were both unbeaten a few years ago. Its a special game, no doubt, but it would not be my first one.

I promise I will come down to the bayou next year for a game if you just happened to get tickets for a sixth tiem Life goal to hit the Meccas of college football. Big house, horseshoe, rose bowl, the swamp, neyland, death valley, happy valley, between the hedges, Texas a&m, Nebraska, etc.

So listening to Yogi Roth on the First Team this morning, he projects that ND will actually lose to both ASU and USC to finish the season. He is from the Pac-12 Network. Says that FSU is an average team, and that he really didn't learn much about ND from that game.

Thoughts?

Can the Irish lose both those games? Sure. They can also lose either home game for that matter. We'll see.

FSU an average team? Well a true average team is 4-4, not 7-1. Are they average for a top 10 team? I'd say yes in everything except record and QB play. The one thing the talking heads refuse to acknowledge every time is the importance of Winston and to the same extent Golson. These guys have stepped up big on multiple occasions when the game was in the balance and delivered. Neither has failed to deliver this year with the only loss being Golson's where his winning points were taken off the board. Mariota may win the Heisman this year but Golson and Winston are the QB's you want running your team during the the second half of a close game.

Can the Irish lose both those games? Sure. They can also lose either home game for that matter. We'll see.

FSU an average team? Well a true average team is 4-4, not 7-1. Are they average for a top 10 team? I'd say yes in everything except record and QB play. Truth be told, there just isn't that one dominant team this year. It's going to come down to who really starts peaking late in the season and can carry that into the playoffs.

This reminds me slightly of one of the funniest things a coach has ever said about a player. When Kelly said that Kendall Moore likes to hit people, now they just need to get him to hit the right people. Haven't chuckled about a coaches comments about a player as hard as I did on that one. FWIW, I'm not comparing the two players in the slightest, this just popped into my head when I read that.

This team won't mature until '16 and '17. If Zaire is 2/3 of what Golson is and the team handles the other losses of Day, Stanley and most likely Smith, the Irish will be off the charts in '16...and '17 too.

Next year's 2 deep will have no more than 12 players in their last year of eligibility... and they will be a top 4 choice to win it all by Vegas next August.
