Though ND won today their defense was a total waste. At times WF made ND's defense look enemic with a horrible pass defense. The ND offense was , as usual, a machine and it pretty much has to be due to poor play by the defense. WF scored 37 points on ND and ran up a total yardage romp of over 500+ yards. Were talking an unranked team here not Alabama. I hope BK and Elko kick some arse here this week because it doesn't get any easier for them.

Yes they belong in the playoff as of today. No doubt about it. Georgia was favored by 24 and only won by 14. Bama was a 28 point favorite against Texas A@M and won by eight. All top teams will have a game like this. No big deal.

Have you been watching any other games today? Penn State lost to MSU, Clemson had a lucky escape against NC State. If your biggest knock is that we only beat Wake Forest by 11 because of some garbage time points you might want to go take a walk and get some perspective.

We waxed a team Clemson squeaked by and lost to UGA by one. No one knows anything about Bama. OSU just got stomped. So yes we belong.

I agree. Glad we won but Kelly let Wake Forest back in the game. That should have ended 48-23 at the best.

If this type of game was happening all year, then I could agree with you. We have been humiliating teams on a regular basis. The defense played a lackluster game, though mostly after we built a 3 possession lead. Ohio State lost, Penn State lost, Stanford lost and we witnessed one of the all-time greatest offensive performances in ND history. Life is pretty good right now.

Now if we could just teach our QB to slide...

Exactly. They aren’t all pretty. OSU got curb stomped twice and PSU loses to Sparty. Wake played pretty tough and knows our scheme inside and out. And like I said, it was never in doubt. I have supreme faith in Elko to get us right for next week.

Wasn't pretty defensively, but most (not all) teams have bad weeks...we picked the right week for this to happen. If you look around the league...OSU and PSU lost and Clemson struggled a bit against a team that we smoked. I am optimistic that this was a needed reality check that will pay dividends for the rest of the season. On to Miami!

I say yes. Until we lose we belong. In my opinion this one was never in doubt. We gave up a lot of years and a lot of points But we won by double digits to a pretty good team who just beat Louisville. I look at it this way and have all year long, after a 4-8 season I wanted to go to a bowl. We will be playing in one. If we play in a bowl game I want to play against someone we have a chance to beat. Right now we are not ready for Alabama but I think we can compete against everyone else. If for some reason we lose one more before the end of the season we are going to a NY6 bowl and will play someone we can handle. I’m not blind to what this team does well and what we do not. Just want to end the year on a good note whether that be in the playoffs or a good bowl game.

This team has far exceeded my expectations to this point. Anything that happens from here on out is icing on some already delicious cake.

We scored a lot of points. Defense had an off day, and it's hard to get up for a Wake team without their best player. We'll be fine.

Michigan State's win did a big one for the resume. Now I'm just rooting for a Miami win so they're flying high before we curb stomp them.

You guys are on here worried about an 11 point win against Wake Forest and giving up 37, yet Oklahoma gave up 41 to Baylor who hasn't won and only won by 8, also they gave up 35 against Kansas state and only won by 7.

Luckily, this is the last time we'll face this sort of spread, until the Playoffs (should we make it.) Miami's QB is way too inconsistent; I'm not impressed with what they bring.

The defense was disappointing but every team has an off day. As long as they see why they played bad and learn from it and play better next we we'll be fine.

I’ll have more later but just finished and that was a terrible defensive performance. I hate this take it easy approach. This should’ve been a blowout, which looks a lot better than an 11 pt. W.

Offense lights out, except for some really sporadic play calling. Loved some it and hated some of it. Weird day to be honest.

Winning always feels good but how you win clearly matters, hence us being 3 going into the game.
