Its the third quarter dog... ND has to play like a division one team before we call out the other side.

Disagree. If we were up at this point, I would be calling for getting Zaire and others experience. Unfortunately we never got that chance.

These injuries are almost certainly a result of poor conditioning or something along those lines. You don't lose that many people just as a coincidence.

Feel bad for Greg... He's played well enough whenever he gets a chance... He rarely gets that chance though.

Does Malik already read the defense better than Golson or is it the meth hangover?

USC is starting 3 OL (which is the last position in the game that's physically ready to play) that were high schoolers last year. What's their excuse? They don't seem to need one.

He is an idiot..

And a HELL of a lot better than us.
So you're admitting that you realize that USC will finish 7-5 with three freshmen OL? It's almost like...experience matters in college football.

I have to start agreeing with our strength and conditioning program as so many injuries is crazy. Not Joe's, but this is crazy.

I'm not ready to blame any member of the staff for it, but... Second year in a row the D has been destroyed by injuries... Odd.

Buster Bluth, thank you for being a voice of reason on these threads. Completely agree with you. This team has been decimated by injury. It's painful to watch but at this level you cannot have that amount of back ups playing major roles. Calling for the strength coaches head shows a complete lack of understanding of strength and conditioning. It's more depressing to read this shit than watch the game.

There's a point where injuries stop being the crutch. ND has surpassed that. Again, we are talking historically bad. ND has gone 3-9 and didn't look this bad. I don't blame the players as they have a ton of talent. The coaches are what needs to be evaluated, specifically the D side.

IDGAF about their record. More than half of their OL were playing in HS last year (which was the premise of your point), and they're kicking our young player's ass.

So take your record and do what you want with it. It doesn't matter. Look at what we're seeing today.

A 5th year program should not look this bad if your a good coach. Sure there is alot of freshman playing but thats on kelly for not recruiting and or developing the players he has gotten. It seems like this team lost all interest after Florida State. This is a Kelly problem plain and simple! This is a pitiful showing of ND football.

Zaire is a warrior! What this season could have been if Kelly swallowed his pride and went with what everyone saw in the nlue gold game.

BK's love for Cam is something I'll never understand. A lost year for GB's development.

I've also been calling for McGlinchey to play over Lombard all year.

So it's nice that Bryant isn't in the doghouse anymore. Kelly sure is a stubborn bastard.

@NDatRivals: ND allowed 40 points in a game just twice in four years under Bob Diaco. Notre Dame has allowed 40 points four times this year w/ BVG.
Some of us were calling for respect for what Diaco accomplished at ND, and even said the early success might not be indicative of real strength (2009 Nevada I believe was the example) for a defense so young.

Others figuratively sucked BVG's cock and then cried when the losses came.

Truth is, the jury is still out with BVG. You have to give him 2015 to prove himself.

And the lack of depth is squarely on the shoulders of Kelly and his staff. No one else to blame there.

Anyone else who still wonders if Zaire should not have not gotten in before today?

Agreed. It's a process. Maybe players are taking too many hits in practice or aren't getting enough time in the weight room. Could be any combination of things.

The Packers had this problem the past couple of years until McCarthy began to put more conditioning sessions into Friday/Saturday practices. This year they've had a significant drop in those injuries.
