I'd call anything less a "disappointment" rather than a disgrace under normal circumstances, but the circumstances aren't normal this year.

Strong has Texas playing better in the 2nd half of the season. They fly around on defense and will most likely beat ND to open next season. Rich Rod has Arizona playing really well even though he is a big time douche

This is his 5th year. I'm as disgusted as any Irish fan, but I'm not ready to can the HC. Who you going to get to replace him? I can't think of a better HC candidate that would seriously consider even interviewing for the ND HC job.

Yeah, you can't fire him now... I thought and said at the time Patterson was the better choice, feel that way more now than ever... But you can't cash out now... The second half of the season is one of the worst coaching jobs I've seen at ND though, terrible.

Our Defense is pretty bad...

But we blitz, rarely get there...but we blitz.

I don't think BVG is a gangsta at all...

I'm not in the "fire Kelly" camp. I also don't think he will quit. This year started out as a dumpster fire with the academic situation that was completely mishandled by the university. We won some games early that were not as impressive as we thought they were going to be pre-season.

We got our hopes up, then the injury bug hit us - our D is seriously depleted. Top that with Kelly's ego preventing him from holding his superstar accountable and here we are. Whether Malik turns out to be anything is still to be determined, but putting him in during the ASU game could have been a wake-up call for Golson. Maybe we see a different team on the field if Kelly had the courage to do the right thing 4 games ago... Regardless of who emerged as the starter after that game.

Bottom line, we performed as expected this year considering suspensions and injuries. I know we're tired of waiting for next year, but we really should do better next year.

Yes I remember that year. Definitely bizarre circumstance thanks to Ty's recruiting. Since then we've won (before the bowl games) 6, 6, 7, 8, 8, and about to be 7. One fluky year where we won 12. It's clear that's a fluke because the other 4 years of his tenure we've won less than 9 regular season games each time. Just because we aren't the worst ND team in school history doesn't mean the head coach is worth keeping. Are we going to argue that Tom Crean is a good basketball coach because of his one good year?
