Man, that corner probably should have turned around...

When we recruit the O-line like we have, I expect holes like the ones Stanford is blowing open tonight. Harry hasn't gotten it done (even though the pass blocking is an A+).

LOLOLOL Dude a converted safety/ WR has 780 yards, 9 TDs on 7.1 ypc through 6 games for us.

How many yards did he have against Clemson?

He should have had at least 2x what he did.

Clemson had 8 in the box all game because of monsoon conditions. Doubt stanford for would of had a successful night running.

Every game concerns me because of Kelly's inability to get his teams ready to play from the first snap, along with his stupid play calling in stressful times.

Outscoring opponents 57-27 in the first quarter, is not getting them ready to play in the first snap?

The Irish needed Staford to destroy UCLA last night. Great W. Now they need to win out until the Irish walk into town.

Did you watch the big game vs Clemson? It happens all the time under Kelly's watch. We'll see what happens Saturday night.

You keep saying ALL THE TIME... I keep pointing out it doesn't.. 14-0 over Texas, 12-0 over Virg, 7-0 over G Tech... They have gotten out fast in every game but the Clemson game this year...

Does USC scare me yes.. Does Stanford.. Yes.. Is there a million things of Kelly's coaching you can pick apart.. yes.. but to say he never has us ready to play and EVERY game on the schedule scares you because of it is just wrong.. Most the time this team is ready

You're a smarter football fan than that.

1. We receive the opening kickoff every game. That gives us an inherent advantage if all you're going to look at is first half or first quarter scoring.

2. Texas, Virginia, and Georgia Tech are garbage football teams. I take nothing from our ability to "get out fast" against garbage football teams. Good for us.

3. Our inability to come out ready to play is not just in points scored versus points allowed, but in attitude. We were sleep walking against Clemson, the one quality opponent we've played so far.

If Joe is still our MLB this one will be interesting.
You're becoming a one-trick pony.

We were in a dogfight in the first half against Navy and UMass too. So yes, we don't ALWAYS come out slow but it's fairly common.

Look Wiz.. I agree with you...

My point is TKO said that EVERY game scares him because Kelly never has his team ready to play.. That was a stupid statement.. Did they come out flat against Clemson.. Yes.. But there has been plenty of big games.. Stanford last year. Oklahoma 2012, Michigan Last year.. Where we came out on fire...

Okay so it's the hyperbole of "every" and "never" to which you object. Got it. Counter-point: I think it's fair if applied prospectively. In other words, I worry about every future game because we've come out flat in a significant portion of past games.

I agree with this.. we play down to our competition way too much.. Much like OSU is doing this season.. Its frustrating

What can a coach do to come out faster? In basketball, our coach would have us go 5 on 5 for a few minutes to get started quickly. Can't do that in football, so what?

They should be able to pretty easily in theory. According to updated FPI here are their chances the rest of the way:

10/24 vs. Washington (84.1%)
10/31 at Washington State (87.1%)
11/7 at Colorado (90.9%)
11/14 vs. Oregon (85.1%)
11/21 vs. California (74.6%)
11/28 vs. Notre Dame (62.6%)

We are getting ahead of ourselves.... BUT.. If we can run the table and Stanford does... This could put two top 10-12 teams battling it out at end of year.. If ND can dominant Stanford like NW did but with more points.. It's our big hello moment for the playoff

What can a coach do to come out faster?
1. Don't call dumbass lateral running plays on third and two.

2. Get a fullback.

3. Get a fullback attitude.

4. Instill a violent culture among your offensive line. Pinkett was right. We need a couple of bad citizens.
