Man today was so sweet...Manti dominated, Rees was awesome, we recruits there, given the last two weeks the is exactly what the doctor ordered. I realized this post has no substance but I'm really just writing to get this thread to the front of the line. Blame it on the tequila.

Sorry I couldn't be here today. I was in attendence at my Alma Mater. Wabash KILLED Depauw 47-0. I was erect for most of the game.

After I watched most of the kids I helped recruit to Wabash pick up the bell, I sprinted back to the Fraternity house to catch the last quarter.

****ing fantastic. This entire week I didn't say anything... but I thought we had a shot. I'm really suprised that Utah didn't stick with the spread... why did they do that offset I ****?

Good question. In the first quarter though, anytime we got pressure on the QB he turned and started running away from the coverage... we got pressure all day and they couldn't deal with it.

From what I have heard from Justice Hayes on Twitter(he was at the game today)...He said he was with Golson and Brissett and they all had a great time.

I just want to say Brian Kelly deserves a LOT of credit for the game plan coming into this game. Great defensive scheme, great execution all-around and I am so proud we did not abandon the run even when we were getting stuffed early.

Today's win was a great, great game. I thought all the players really put everything thy had into it and executed tremendously. Man, it was nice to finally see a Senior Day go right, and it was even nicer to see us dominate a Top 15 opponent. I definitely feel this is Brian Kelly' first "Signature Win" as the head coach here. And really, that's a great feeling. Weis never had one (his closest thing to it was either the close loss to USC or snapping the bowl losing streak). We needed this one as a program.

I was reading the article in the boxscore for us yesterday and we held utah to a season low in total yards at 265 and a rushing low since 2007 of 71. Nice work Defense.

Utah stays in the Top 25 in both the AP and Coaches Polls. 24 and 25, barely in there, but they are in there, so we can still say we beat a ranked team. We'll see what the BCS comes out with.

It was a great game. I'm happy for the seniors and proud of all the players who stepped up to replace and support the injured players. I'm happy for the student body. I am tickled pink (geezer reference – self-deprecating) by their response before, during and after the game.

I was impressed by the showing of a very large contingent of Utah fans. Walking about the campus pre-game and post-game it was clear that they were impressed with Notre Dame, its campus, traditions and students.

I got the feeling that most most enjoyed and appreciated their opportunity to visit in spite of their loss. I approached a group of Utah fans (more geezerly than me) when leaving the stadium after the game. I expressed my condolences over their loss and told them that I hoped they enjoyed their time at Notre Dame in spite of it. They assured me that they did and that they were impressed by many, many things. Not just the beauty of the campus; but the welcome, warmth, generosity and respect they received while there.

This is the Notre Dame that I care about above all else.

I wax poetic, I know, but it's late and my body is still pumping far too much adrenaline for sleep. Pride is in the air and it feels good to breath it deeply. Even should it prove a fleeting moment.

Go Irish! Beat Army! Kick the living shyte out of USC!!!

+1

Coach Kelly and his staff deserve a TON of credit for their performance on Saturday as do the players that have stepped up in the absence of alot of the starters. The team was well prepared and for the most part executed extremely well. This was a huge game for everyone involved with this program. This was a HUGE win, and maybe it was this win that really starts to instill some confidence this program desperately needs. GO IRISH!!

has anyone mentioned the oregon duck-like play cards with different photos on on them?

i thought that was pretty cool, because if we could start looking like oregon on the field...that would be cool.

also it looked like we were running a four man d-line a lot of the time, seemed to really pressure the QB and seriously stuff the run.

I agree all over. I don't know that I've ever seen that many opposing fans at a Notre Dame game (of course scUM's maize and blue blends in a bit more than Utah's red). Before the game I was even a little nervous that there might be more red than blue/gold/green in the stadium!

All other things aside (which don't get me wrong I'm more excited than anyone about everything else), I thought they way we handled Utah's fans was absolutely exemplary. Sure, there were some verbal jousts, but all the ones I heard were good natured. Both parties were respectful. We kicked their a$$ on the field, and we were still able to be nice people when we left. I think this is a big part of what makes Notre Dame so different from anywhere else. I even gave some lost Ute fans directions after the game. I have to think they might have been pointed in the wrong direction at another school (no, not all other schools, but at USCrap at least haha). It was just great to be able to host so many people so well. Thanks to everyone who kept and continues to keep Notre Dame a good place to be for everyone.

GO IRISH! Let's focus on winning back the hearts of our NY fan base after the Navy showing.
