I do not think being in the race this late mean anything!!!!! How many big name recruits have we missed out on over the years...a lot! I never heard anyone say, he is a great player for Flordia and ND did finish second in recruiting him. Who gives a chit...either we get him or we don't!! There is no second place in recruiting!!!

Yeah, accorind to the Trojan chat rooms, he is on campus today. This is bad timing as they just lost a major LB recruit, Vontaze Burfict, to Arizona State because (according to their posters) his grades weren't good enough to qualify at USC. He must be a real genius. Anyways, I'm sure that they are working extra hard on Te'o now because they can't afford to lose both of these guys after losing their top 4 LB's this year to the draft. Still holding out hope for Manti to end up Irish though. My newborn twins told me when they were born Wednesday that all they wanted on their birthday was a ND committment from Te'o and Byron Moore. Seriously, they told me that!

Which one chose Te'o? That twin is the one with the ambitions and dreams, although your other twin is probably a realist, and is intelligent enough to ask for things that are attainable. j/k

As for Burfict, apparently Ray Malauga took his entrance exams and therefore he couldn't get in (Ray actually got stupider in his 4 years at U$C). Man, if Mike Williams and Ray Ray and others can get into USC, and Burfict couldn't, then, um, well, er......wow.

That is seriously some good kids you got coming up!!! If it is true that Vontaze can't get into u$c and went w ASU, I would think the PT possibilities would look even better for Te'o. I wished the trojans were getting 4 other LBs instead.

I know I'm a homer...living in AZ and all....but if he can't get into USC, I doubt he could get into ASU. IMO, if he left USC to go to ASU it wasn't because of grades. There has to be something else to it. Again, this is just my opinion. I'd like to believe that no USC fan can accept that someone chose a team over their own...so they say he's not smart enough to go to USC.......like that is possible.

Not looking good...I am sure USC is throwing all the money, women, and everything else at Teo today. I think he verbals to USC before leaving town! :-(

Have you not payed attention to what Manti has said about his faith and academics being improtant to him? If he verbals to Southern Cal it won't be because of women and money.

And THAT is exactly why he will turn USC down. I really do hope they start throwing all those things at him and show him their true colors!

Manti isn't "that" kind of kid.

With my great insight... I predict he is simply telling USC thanks for recruiting him but he is not interested. He Will be Irish on the 4th. I wonder how far this commitment will move us up in the recruit rankings, not that they really matter.

Manti isnt coming to Notre Dame. Even IF (BIG IF) he does come and he's a 5 star, as soon as he commited to us he would instantly be downgraded to a 4 star. But anyway....I'm way off track. He aint coming. He's gonna be a Bruin or Trojan. Sorry to burst your bubble.

I'm not sure...girls have toppled more than one empire; let alone numerous 18 year old kids...

There is also a saying on the recruiting trail..."P*ssy is undefeated." I don't like the fact that USCum gets the last shot...

EXACTLY! When the devil throws that hot pussy in your face, Its the ULTIMATE temptation and I dont care who you are, Its not easy to say no to that shit. Manti is 18 years old I believe and thats when men are the horniest mother fuckers around. Usc knows what the hell their doing and thats exactly why he's more than likely going to go to Usc.

With other recruits, you're exactly right. But you're way off track with this kid. If U$C tries to throw the putang at him, that's the worst thing they could ever do, and they probably know that (unless they're REALLY stupid). This kid is devout. I don't know if you've spent any time with devout Mormons, but I have, and they are straight-up squares. Don't drink, don't smoke, no sex, etc. And I'm talking about guys as well as girls. Yeah, you got the Mormons that party, but the devout ones don't. (Ever been to a Mormon wedding reception? My Lord, as dry as the desert. No alcohol whatsoever.)

Te'o is devout; just listen to the kid talk. And it's not lipservice, it's real. This due wants to change the world, and throwing p*ssy at him isn't going to do anything but push him towards another school. For my money I'll say it's between UCLA and ND. Both schools fit him so much better than USC, but UCLA is closer to home. We'll see...

I don't understand why some people are so insistant that Te'o isn't coming here. I don't understand the reasoning. I don't like to get my hopes up with a big recruit like this, but I also don't understand how someone could be so certain he isn't coming here when many of the things out there i.e. "wants to challenge himself," "very devout" indicate that ND might be the perfect place for him.

I got people.

It's no secret that some people here have an avenue for early information.

I know some people joke about it, too.

Are your "people" saying there's no chance for Teo? If so, please let me know, you'll save me a whole lot of anxiety checking in everyday to see if there's any bit of information on the Teo decision.

Thanks.

here is an awesome article on teo from sportsillustrated. talks about some of USC's problems with LDS recruits, as well as say that teo "feels comfortable in small towns that are faith based." sounds good to me. still cant get a great read on this guy committment, his recruiting has been very strange IMO. said everything about how faith was so important to him, then he dropped byu. academics are also high on his list, but dropped Stanford. anyways, here is the article, link below.

NDOM you are so off base it is not even funny. ND is the slight favorite right now, with USC having a decent chance, and UCLA having almsot none. You got people? I got better people.
