2 seed Duke got upset in the other quarterfinal this afternoon by Maryland if you want to call getting beat by a team making its 3rd appearance out of the last 4 years in championship weekend an upset but the terps did have an off year record wise for some reason

Pretty crazy upset, IMO....Duke has so much more talent than that team. Maryland won because of one player...Wierman..He literally dominated face, and Duke just couldn't catch rhythm. Maryland was so sloppy, I still can't believe they pulled that off. Notre Dame was already in the driver's seat to repeat...With Duke losing, they just jumped into a Rolls Royce Boat tail! Les Go!

Wow, Denver just totally controlled the flow of the game and upended Syracuse. Notre Dame opens as a 5 goal favorite.

Easier matchup than Cuse on paper. Denver is super mediocre pretty much everywhere and plays a style similar to Georgetown... but I doubt they will win faceoffs at the clip that they want to with the way Lynch has been playing.

Playing Denver in May is always going to give me some pretty bad flashbacks... I think we pull it out though.

Watched Va-Hopkins don’t think either is anywhere near where we are now. So many giveaways.
No goals for almost 5 minutes in OT when you are emptying your tank, pretty unimpressive.

Facts...but as Virginia showed in their first game against ND, they can definitely pose some problems. IMO, If Hopkins pulls that game out, ND would have been as close as a lock as you can get....Still VERY likely they go back-to-back, but the possibility of facing Virginia again does potentially pose more challenges.

UVA is by far the hardest matchup left for ND if it materializes. Denver has a very low chance of beating ND because they lack firepower on offense and their defense lacks guys who can cover ND’s players 1v1.

Maryland likewise just does not have enough horses on offense but they do have a good goalie, FOGO, and defense.

UVA has some elite cover guys and by far the best collection of offensive players. So it’s who I would like to see the least in the finals. UVA is good enough to beat ND if Entenmann has an off day.

Getting pumped...and heading to Philly tomorrow. Saturday looks pretty toasty...advantage ND. No one comes close to matching the midfield depth of ND. Faceoff battle against Denver should be interesting. If Lynch gets close to 50%, ND really should be able to handle Denver. I'd like to see them push the pace as much as they can. Really hoping Maryland puts a game plan together to take out UVA. Wierman, along with coaching decisions/matchups took Duke out...Hopefully they do the same against UVA...Just don't want to see ND have to play them for a third time, as they definitely have the talent/coaching to win. I assume UVA will go with their back up goalie...That could help Maryland's anemic offense. Monday looks wet/stormy...Not a fan...Bad weather could neutralize the game whether it be UVA or Maryland.

10-1 advantage in FO's and twice as many SOG and only a one goal lead. Not feeling real good at halftime.

ESPN guys blathering about how good Denver's coaches are at halftime adjustments. We'll see.

Yup, empty possessions and Denver saves are why it is close.

Defensively, giving up too much to their inverts. Should just be sliding earlier and resetting the defense.

If ND can get to ~12 goals they should definitely win. A lot of bad whistles / bad bounces so far. This media timeout sucks as it gives Denver a chance to regroup.
