Still rough, but 2nd half felt more encouraging. Yago still wasn't much of a dodging threat, but he can put some heat on the ball. Excited to see the offense run through Luke Miller more. Good things seemed to keep happening when the ball was in Lally's stick, and as was already discussed Jeffrey is such a weapon. Spano was largely successful in the second half, curious to see how that split shakes out as the season progresses. Corrigan was still rotating on offense a bunch throughout, and I imagine we won't get a firm sense on the rotation until game 3 against Georgetown next Saturday. Looking forward to the Bellarmine game on Tuesday!

Well not the cleanest game, but it was their first game. They are definitely trying to figure out the new pieces on offense with quite a few players trying things out. Yago picked it up in the second half...right place, right time, and finished his shots.
Pretty concerning book end play...Faceoff was a mess and Rico let quite few in. Not going to be a good team unless they drastically improve there! Also, Concerning close D too, as lots of open crease plays for Marquette. I was actually shocked how Lyght looked today..soft... That Marquette guy was taking it to him, and actually won the battle quite a few times.

Definitely agree...I would actually like to see him as a crease middie...More of a Jake Taylor type role

Yeah, that was pretty alarming to see Lyght get handled repeatedly by that guy. Riccordelli gave up a couple goals from far too out but overall I though he did OK. Defense gave up too many completions in point blank range.

He basically went straight counters and dominated. Rarely contested the clamp at all.

Big issue for this team was the specialists being pretty mediocre and some inefficient/turnover prone lacrosse at times... they are basically playing 6x guys who want the ball in their stick, with only Yago playing consistently well "offball"... and he was more outside-in style getting midrange opportunities than doing any crease finishing. The offense looked incredibly rough against Marquette's zone the handful of times they went to it.

The primary rotation of Miller/Pokorny/Behrman shot the ball 3-for-10 with 5 turnovers. Lally shot 2-for-2 with an assist and zero turnovers in very limited minutes. I think he needs to get more minutes in the rotation against Bellarmine over Behrman. Miller does some really good stuff but just did not finish a lot of opportunities and also displayed some questionable decision making at times settling for lower percentage looks that weren't quite there.

The midfield is very deep and national championship caliber even if it lacks All-American star power. Rest of the team I'm not sure.

#81 sure looks like an all-american to me.

Tough to take away a ton from today because we are so much more talented than these guys, but pretty dominant thus far. Lally continues to impress. Diaz-Matos has been much better (against presumably worse competition). Spent the first quarter attacking the crease more than it felt like we did last game. Luke Miller scored a quick two points and then I don't think played in the 2nd, maybe he's hurt? Will Donovan is so dominant and so much fun to watch. Assuming we are going to wind down in the second half but it would be fun to see how many goals we could score.

The pieces of the puzzle seem to be there...Hopefully they put it together and make a serious run. The gauntlet of their season is about to begin.

Game tomorrow has been moved indoors due to weather and will not be televised. They broadcast games in Loftus all the time so I'm not totally sure why they aren't now; gonna have to ask my guy what's up with that. Huge bummer to not get to watch the first big test of year :(

Really nice and hard-fought win against the #4 team! Georgetown kept it close for a long time as they normally do, and we finally blew it open in the 4th. Yago (5 points (3G, 2A, 2 CTs), had a really great all around game, and Angrick (3G, 1A) and Lally (2G, 2A) put up big numbers too. Diaz-Matos cooled off after a strong start but kept it competitive and about even by game's end (probably all we should be hoping for at this point). We forced 19(!!) turnovers and were extremely physical on the defensive end. Tough to complain about a game where we gave up 9, but this is the third game in a row where Ricciardelli's numbers have been subpar....something to monitor once we get video of games again.

Great win! Boys should be #3 heading into a game against a Maryland team that looks more vulnerable than usual.

North Carolina, Cornell and Richmond all had good wins this weekend so we’ll probably be fourth in the inside lacrosse poll.

North Carolina lost today so we'll be #1 in this weeks poll. Might not last long as we have a trip to 6-0 Ohio St this weekend.

IMPRESSIVE win at Maryland! Wide open race this year, but this team definitely has the pieces to win it!
