I am actually shocked it took teams this long to start zoning ND. ND's man up was STRAIGHT ASS all year, and zone you get an extra defender lol

I missed the game cuz I was busy losing a HS state championship game soooooo not a great day in the Lax household...
Still incredibly impressive to make it to that point...Congrats on a great season!

Off topic a touch, but Colby Women's lacrosse lost in OT to Middlebury in the D3 semis. I feel like the morning after a ND Football loss. Great season, 4 losses total, 2 by one goal to Middlebury and then two by Tufts, scores not mentioned lol. They got a taste of the Final Four. Hopefully they can get back.

As a Cornell Grad, happy to see that they won their first NCAA Lacrosse championship since 1977 (48 years)! They've been runner ups 5x since 1977, including 1988 - my Cornell senior year - when I was in the Carrier Dome to see them lose to Syracuse and the Gait Bros. A longer drought than ND's current NCAA Football national championship one! Go Big Red!

Virginia, private school. Due to weather and other shenanigans we had to travel 2+ hours each way to play the semifinals on Saturday then turn around the next day and drive 2+ hours to play the finals. Makes the NCAA final four quick turnaround look like child's play.

Spending my weekend in Albany to watch the first week of the PLL. ESPN has been making a big deal about Pat and Chris Kav playing against each other for the first time ever tonight- should be fun!

Redwoods look surprisingly solid on attack with the new acquisitions but I'm realllllllly skeptical of the other spots. I think Outlaws win by 2-3 goals.

Kav really stepped up scoring 5 points (4 goals) in his debut with the Woods. Pretty cool to see Garnsey assist his first goal.

Finally buying a new setup. Been 10 years since college and still using the same setup (rarely used). Wanna somehow incorporate some shooting back into my workout. Everything brand wise is so different now and I use to be a stringer for everyone and now there is so much new stuff.

Forgot to mention, I was able to go to the PLL semi-finals and championship game; got to see Pat and Chris play against each other again, and Liam get his first championship with New York!

Shoutout to Matt Jeffrey for his big play yesterday!

ND lax finally starting up this weekend! Some things I’m excited to see play out:
-Defense is returning a ton of experienced talent and should be very good; who steps up into the rotation at SSDM with Alacqua and Reinhart?
-Josh Yago is seemingly getting high praise and should fit well as the natural distributor we didn’t really have last year, but how do all the new faces fit around him? Really hopeful Matt Jeffrey can take The Leap like he’s capable of!
-5* freshman seemingly filling in at face-off, is he ready to step into Will Lynch’s shoes?

Schedule is as usual an absolute gauntlet, so should be a lot of exciting games! Hopefully going to be a fun season.

We lost our three starters at attack from last year. Multiple candidates to replace them including Yago. How they perform is the key to the season in my view as the rest of the lineup looks good.
Preseason ranking of #8 seems low. Looking forward to opening day as basketball is totally unwatchable.

Their defense, especially with Lyght and Donovan, should be lights out.
Losing Taylor, and not having a Kav on offense, will definitely be....different. I'm excited to see the new look offense and hope that they gel.
Faceoff, five star or not, will be a giant question mark.
Definitely agree stpe...I'm always super excited for lax, but with both basketball teams really struggling, I'm looking forward to it even more!

ND is either going to be really, really good this year with arguably the best defense in the country and the best "newcomer" at FO... or they are going to miss the playoffs entirely. I don't see a middle ground. Everything I have heard is that the team is extremely athletic and will be midfield driven with Yago being the best player at attack by a large margin. And frankly, Yago was not *that* good last year for Air Force so either this is a Riley Leonard situation where he just needed better complimentary pieces or the offense might be a huuuuuge step back from what we saw in the back-to-back champ teams.

Thanks Lax! Do you have any sense of if Dylan Faison is going to have a role early, or is that wishful thinking just because his brother was?

He will play this year, he's in a bit of a tough spot because unlike a normal freshman he got no fall ball. So he is way behind the curve.

Sloppy first half.

-Attack was practically non-existent until about halfway through the 2nd quarter...Freshmen Teddy Lally came in and had a nice goal, and Luke Miller seemed to pick things up a bit by the end. Yago had basically nothing going.

-Felt like Ricciardelli let one or two in there that he shouldn't but I wouldn't say I am exactly qualified to say that confidently. I'm sure the defense will be fine. Thought sophomore Kyle Bergen acquitted himself well on an island down low at one point.

-Freshman Aidan Diaz-Matos struggled at the faceoff, which definitely did not help our general sloppiness. Curious if they give the transfer Tyler Spano more looks in the second half.

Highly unimpressive first half. Offense, defense, goalie, face off all not good. Hope its just first game kinks but we don't have an attackman who stands out.
Corrigan using a lot of guys .

Definitely sloppy beginning. Jeffrey looks great at middie, Miller looks good at attack, but the offense definitely trying to figure things out early. Looks like they'll be attacking up high more often this year. Early, but faceoff looks horrible, Yago looks terrible and agreed with Rico. Hopefully they sharpen things up second half.
