I'd still try to get another Safety. The other Safety spot is a huge question mark. WR, OT, S, K. I'd even be open to bringing in another DE and seeing if someone out there is better than Botelho.

Another thing I love about the portal: I'm less invested in the stupid world of HS recruiting. A QB commits and decommits and recommits and decommits in a month? Let's hit the portal. No use worrying about the girlfriends or uncles or whatever when we can recruit adults who are looking for NFL opportunities and a Masters.

Right. Remember the absolute DISASTER losing Deontay Greenberry on NSD was a decade ago? The portal makes that pretty much a non-factor now...or at least a much smaller deal.

With Henderson and Carter transferring, Safety is absolutely a need imo. Watts and 5/6 freshmen is basically what's on the roster next year. One or two of the young guys getting rotating snaps is fine but you need a starter opposite of Watts.

and there's the spring window, 15 days now. (Last year ; Gained Devyn Ford, Antonio Carter / Lost Diggs, Styles, Buchner, Kollie, Caleb Johnson). Keon Coleman (FSU) and Bear Alexander (USC) - were spring guys I believe.

Lot more can happen with position coaching changes too; portal closes Jan 2nd and NFL season ends Jan 7th.

Yup, they filled the minimum need for WR and now they can focus on landing a stud

Now should be the time the true tampering begins, players should know now what ND is building and the NIL money is legit along with everything ND offers outside of that. You should see players either start making contact with ND or testing the portal waters

Yeah that’s a really hard one though because interest has to be reciprocal. I see nothing to suggest that he’s looking anywhere but in the south/SEC.

Mitch Jeter is a huge pick up. He is almost a sure thing. Last two seasons he is 20-20 in field goals under 50 yards and 3-5 over 50 yards. He has a career 97.1% extra point percentage

I don't think there's any must get at this point and he's a bit redundant with Collins but he's probably the best of the three in him, Mitchell, and Collins.
