I am sure that’s what we heard about Stucky too.
Just read threw articles from when he was hired and none called him a rising star.

Interesting couple tidbits though.

Stuckey was a 7th Round pick of the New York Jets in the 2007 NFL Draft. He played four seasons and also had stints with the Cleveland Browns and Arizona Cardinals. In 2011, the wide receivers coach for the Cardinals was John McNulty, who is currently the tight ends coach for Notre Dame.

The biggest test for the Warner Robins, Ga., native at Notre Dame will be pulling in new elite talent at the wide receiver position for the Irish.

“That’s one position where recruiting is super important. Notre Dame cannot strike out on this coaching change. They’ve got to get one, get a great recruiter.”

Stuckey didn't come into the interview process as the leading candidate but blew away all those involved in the interview with his knowledge and passion.

I never said that. Actually I said if you thought we were getting one of them you were shooting up some good heroin.

We have an offensive coordinator that’s not good so we needed a difference maker at WR. This has the comfort hire all over it.

But we’ll see.

Again like I said at least the recruits like it.
My apologies, I misread. I don’t know anything about him as a candidate, but I know the people that everyone wanted weren’t going to happen.

Fickell thought enough about him to give him associate HC title. Jesus man give the guy a fucking chance. Wisconsin went from Chryst to Air Raid. Let’s see what this guy can do.
2400 yards passing is Air Raid these days?

MF is turning into Fickell lite
Cincinnati under Fickell consistently punched above their weight class, and had players outperform their recruiting rankings, basically at all positions. If you are going to go into familiar territory to pluck coaches for your staff, taking a guy that Fickell took with him and gave him an increase in title to make it happen doesnt seem like the worst place to start.

I am not going to pass judgement.

MF is bringing in his guys. For better or worse.

But, it's his coaching future on the line and not mine. So, hopefully he can figure it out with the guys he has assembled.

Marcus doubles down on the Cincy crowd. Not exciting if you thought the Stuckey firing would be a vehicle to demote Parker to WR coach and bring in an OC. I wonder why Freeman didn't just hire Brown when he took over and dumped Del.

From what I’ve heard, Tommy had a lot of control over his side of the ball.

If only Tommy could have put his foot down over hiring Porker…

The beginning of the end for MF??
I mentioned in the Freeman thread that the Stuckey firing and subsequent WR exodus may be his extinction event. It's not killing him today, but it's going to lead to some bad seasons in the future.
