Nobody will schedule Boise...
Horsehockey!! Maybe the big names will not schedule them "home and home", but there are plenty of big name teams that will play them. You mean to tell me that Ohio State will schedule Texas, USC, and Miami, but is afraid to play Boise State? That a "back" ND team would play the likes of USC, Nebraska, and Michigan, but would be afraid to play Boise State? I did hear the announcers talking about the BSU AD, during the game, and mentioning that he told them that he will no longer be looking for a "home and home" type arrangement, for the big teams. He now says that BSU will be willing to travel, without demanding a home game in return. You will see them get bigger and better names on their schedules, in the future.
Sorry, I digressed. In answer to the original question: I don't think there was ever an argument FOR the MWC to be included in the BCS auto-bid system.
They beat an 8-4 Fresno State, an 8-4 Oregon State, an 8-4 Cal, and a 10-3 Houston. Houston is, by far, the best win on that slate, and Air Force was the benefit of a Case Keenum (
6 INTs) that looked more like Pat Dillingham than Case Keenum. The problem with the "talking heads", when it comes to bowls, is that they simply look at the win-loss records, and not the actual matchups.
