Didn’t Angeli have a real crap blue gold game? I’m sold on switching to him but if my memory is correct it was a horrid performance and Carr came in and looked like a future heisman contender.
His blue gold game was fine. Minchey and Carr actually looked a little better. Look at the Oregon St bowl game for Angeli and he was basically flawless.

Postgame Thoughts:
1) ND got outcoached
2) ND got outplayed
3) At one point in the game yesterday they showed stats and Antario Brown had more yards than ND's offense
4) When are we going to see the "hurry up offense?"
5) 0 passing TD's through 2 games- has that ever happened?
6) 0 points in the second half, at a home, vs a MAC school
7) Thoughts on Leonard- he looked scared in the pocket yesterday, he missed open WR's (he focused on option 1 and missed on option 2)
8) If any changes should've been made yesterday Leonard should've been benched. When will it be Angeli time?
9) For opposing teams the Notre Dame experience is too friendly, make it hostile
10) Freeman needs to get pissed, the coaches need to get pissed, the players need to get pissed and all take it out on Purdue next Saturday

Go Irish!!

If you bring in a transfer QB and treat him differently simply bc he’s a transfer QB, you’re a shitty coach. BK would NOT start RL against Purdue. Neither would Saban. I highly doubt any serious coach would start him. Day would not. Smart would not. Harbaugh would not. I think a two headed monster or a rotation is warranted. May the best man win the job. If RL wins the job so be it but he should be demoted after two terrible games.

Whoever is saying this is the worst loss in ND history hasn't been watching ND football very long.

Off the top of my head I can name at least 5 worse losses:

1. Tulsa the week Declan Sullivan died from a scissor lift accident at practice
2. 3 win Syracuse team that fired its head coach, and the crowd threw snowballs at the players
3. Uconn led by former ND QB Zach Frazer
4. Navy 2007 snapping a 44 game winning streak
5. South Florida which had a delay and the debut of purple face Kelly.

.
Did any of those teams have the talent and depth of this ND team? No and not even close. I think this was the biggest spread that we got beat. We also just got our hopes up and had everyone fooled that we were legit and we are not. Biggest letdown. At least Marshall went on to 9 wins that year. I don’t think Marcus can beat an out of shape no name black head coach.

Hardly our biggest issues but one thing I noticed is kind of nothing from Howard Cross and Millis. They seem like the same players they were 2 years ago. No blown up plays, no splash plays, they don't look like they'll be near the top of the list at end of year as far as best interior duos in CFB. Again hardly our biggest issue but they don't seem to be bother anyone offenses.

I could get technical & into Xs & Os but let’s not sugar coat it.

The staff didn’t prepare these kids & thought they were fucking 2012 Alabama bc they got a W in Kyle Field & they’d roll right over NIU.

And here we are getting dominated in the trenches by a MAC school with a fucking million dollar QB that can’t THROW 10+ yards.

What the fuck are Gino & Mike looking at in practice? Do they make Riley throw the ball at all? I can’t imagine he’s slinging it all over the place & then just losing the ability on Gameday.

We’ve seen Angeli do it & yet, like a stubborn MLB general manager they force themselves to stick with the big contract guy.

The offense is in complete disarray & the QB position is the heart of it. No one is saying shit about the defense if we win this game 44-16..

But instead of Marcus making the tough decision & benching RL for Angeli, he leaves it to his coordinators who try to force the kid that can’t throw to throw.

The OL gave him ALL DAY EVERY DAY..

And if it’s the WRs not getting separation THEN HOW THE FUCK ARE WE SUPPOSED TO FIX THAT WITH TWO THREE STAR RECRUITS COMING IN??

Why in the hell wasn’t WR a massive priority?

I’m completely stunned.. this staff should be embarrassed. This is pee wee fucking bullshit..

Your QB can’t throw passes & you’re losing to a MAC school.. FUCKING START COACHING

Either way we’re fucked.. we’re just not going to get the caliber player that goes to Ohio St or classless situations like that & even with a solid roster we FUCKING PLAY LIKE PUSSY CUNTS against mac teams.

This is wildly depressing.. I genuinely like Marcus but this loss is unacceptable in year 3.

Quit bringing in QB transfers, especially after this season. ND needs to develop what they have.

Great call out on millll and cross, they didn’t practice all spring and barely all fall, this is how they got them back… shocking they’re playing bad. They treated some starters soft like nfl vets. Shocking they’re playing soft

I seen Riley’s mom after the game. Basically walked/ran into me. Not sure if people were giving her a bunch of crap, which I think they were. She looked me right in the eye, I think she was expecting me to say something to her. As a parent of a collegiate athlete that is tough.

Yea, that would be tough. I'd swing at people dissing my kid. However, Riley is a highly paid professional now, not your average college kid.

Dont worry about her - 2 million at age 22 invested smartly is generational wealth. The dome has taken very good care of them. Now they can go away

Yep. This is what the players wanted. They got it. Now they're fair game.
I don’t disagree. He agreed to the terms and expectations when he came here. It’s tough to see though. I know how me and the wife feel when my daughter plays like shit. No matter the amount of money I’m still going to be upset. That’s your kid out there. It’s a whole new ballgame out there. Bottom line is his ass needs to sit the bench.

I watched most of the game yesterday. A few questions/observations:

—Obviously, Freeman did not have the team prepared. Other than the opening drive and Love’s amazing TD run, the whole team and coaches appeared to be going through the motions. They looked as if they’d just show up and would win on talent alone. The conservative play calling reflected that.

—What the hell was up with Cross and Mills? Notre Dame’s interior defensive line is purportedly one of the best in the country. They were blown up yesterday.

— I don’t think Denbrock has much faith in Leonard pushing the ball down field, and rightfully so. That said, if he’s that big of a liability, why continue to play him? Not being able to accurately and effectively throw it 10+ yards downfield is an integral part of the game and position. You’ve got to play the best players and the players that will win you the game…you owe it to the team, collectively. Angeli, Minchey, or Carr deserves some reps at this point.

—Leonard, on TV, appeared to be extremely rattled. He looked defeated. Oddly enough, against a much better opponent and in a hostile environment we saw the exact opposite last week. What’s up with that? It simply doesn’t make sense.

— Going forward, you’ve got to wonder where Leonard’s psyche is. He’s gotta have a short leash. That’s though spot for a QB to be in and is conceivably ineffective.

— This loss is solely on Freeman. The team was not prepared to play at all. There’s way too much talent (experienced, veteran talent at that) to play like that. I said it last night, but he has a lot of similarities to Coach O — and take that as you will. On the one hand, Coach O did assemble the best team of all time and win a NC. The next season, was one of the worst ever. He’s way too turbulent. They beat A&M, on the road, in week one, and then lose to lowly, inferior directional state, at home, in week two. It’s maddening and infuriating.

Sorry fellas. You’re behind the 8-ball, but I hope y’all win out.

Thanks LSU bro. Once kelly leaves i will return to cheering for your extremely fun program.

The most inexcusable thing is the fact the yards were there on the ground but we just demanded to lose the game

I thought they had nice seasons last season and was thrilled they decided to return. That said, I thought once they committed to return, the hype on their impact seemed to inflate w/ every passing report from the ND media.

Hard to argue that Cross isn’t dealing w/ some type of injury. If he’s not, then why the subpar play?

If Mills is the captain of the two, why isn’t he on the mic to answer questions postgame instead of Cross? I thought Cross was a no-brainer Captain and he showed it last night in the post game presser. Maybe Mills spoke to but I’ve yet to see/hear it.

Completely agree. I read somewhere that Riley is making more than NIU’s head coach. Not sure how true that is but I’d believe it.

These are still kids but once you’re making an adult salary I think criticism is fair game. I sure as hell wouldn’t say anything to his family though. It’s a business now and emotion has to be removed. He’s not getting the job done, time to move to someone who can or can be developed.

I am curious how he went from a very good player two years ago to this.

We are 18th in AP? Don't get me wrong, we suck and I think Riley may be worse than Hartman, but if we win out we are absolutely in the playoffs.
I think ND would be I'm at 11-1 but that would require a mind boggling transformation.
