So do the Flyers and Devs
Hey GoIrish, The Flyers and Kings play pretty early next year
Yeah, Kings come home from Europe and then play at New Jersey and at Philly. Don't get their first true home game until October 18th. The first two games are considered home games, but in Europe.
I hate the Europe crap. Hopefully the Flyers never go
Yeah, I don't see the benefit of promoting in that market. I could maybe see preseason games, but not regular season games.
Kings need to get Doughty signed. I am not comfortable with this taking so long. I am afraid the Islanders or Avalanche are going to come in with a huge offer sheet if they don't get that deal done soon. Teams like that really have the potential to make it very difficult for the Kings to match an offer sheet.
I don't think they will. It's kind of a code amongst GM's to not do that. Plus Colorado doesn't have their 1st next year so they can't. And if they Islanders take the 3 or 4 top 5/10 picks and run with them.
But saying that nobody will offer him a sheet
Holy christ Schenn wrecked him. I totally forgot about Sbisa.
I found some of their scraps from Juniors on hockeyfights.com and they have some history. Should be fun to watch this season. In that tilt, Schenn took a couple shots early and then just came back and walloped him. Good to see a "skill" player with that much talent also have a mean streak and be able to drop the gloves and be quite good at it.
Looks like Friday December 2nd the Flyers play the Quacks in Ana-slime. I might have to go up for that one. Might even rock a Flyers t-shirt. Anytime I can have some fun with Quack "fans", I am all for it.
Steve Mason's new mask. Pretty interesting

The Flyers signed JVR to a 6 year extension worth $4.25m a year. I can live with this
That was a great signing. Good term. Long enough, but not too long. And a very reasonable cap hit.
On a related note, the Sharks gave Couture $5.75 for two years. At that level, I am surprised they didn't lock him up for more years. That will be expensive.
I am still aprehensive about the Doughty issue. I wish they would get the deal done. The Kings boards are funny because there is so much rumor and speculation, but in reality, no one knows anything about what is really happening.
The Kings BLOW!!!!!!! They aint nuttin but NNNEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRDDDDDDDS. lol ( jk bro)
Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice! Start rippin' on the Kings. Are you waiting on pins and needles to see if Mike Modano is going to get around to deciding whether or not he is going to grace the team with his presence this year?
I'm just messing with ya. Madona I mean Madano is OLD!
I know you were just messin'. Modano is old. It pisses me off that guys like Modano and Selanne wait around until so close to training camp to decide whether or not they want to play. I don't think it is too fair to the team to prolong that decision.
I like Modano. He is one of my favorite non-King players. He is also, arguably, one of the greatest American born player to have ever strapped on a pair of skates. But this whole situation kind of bugs me from players.
Yeah I like the contract as long as he plays like he did in the playoffs. In the Boston series he was pretty much the only player to show up and he absolutely dominated Game 2 matched up against Boston's top defensive pairing. That was a great signing. Good term. Long enough, but not too long. And a very reasonable cap hit.

Yeah that Couture signing sorta confused me. Although he should be a RFA when the contract is up so they'll at least still have a bit of control over the situation.
I can't believe Doughty hasn't signed yet. Although I don't think Bobby Ryan signed until September last year, so there is still time
It's just funny because, out of our two young defensement that were due for new contracts, I thought it would be Jack Johnson that would draw out the long contract negotiation process. Shows you what I know.
I am pretty excited about the Ethan Moreau signing. One year at $600K. He really wants to be in LA which is cool and I think he is going to fill a gap of veteran leadership that was lost when Handzus and Smyth left. Plus, I think he still has some pretty good hockey left in him. Especially playing 3rd/4th line minutes plus some power play. I kind of like a third line combo of Kyle Clifford, Jarrett Stoll, and Moreau. That could be a tough, grinding, and hard hitting third line.
What are the kings lines gonna look like?
?-Kopitar-Brown
Gagne-Richards-Williams(hmmm kinda looks familar)
Moreau-Stoll-Clifford?
And i don't even know where to begin with the 4th line
From everything I am hearing, it is going to at least start out something like this:
Penner-Kopitar-Williams
Gagne-Richards-Brown (I love this line!)
Moreau-Richardson-Clifford
???-Lewis-???
The "???" are going to rotate depending on who's healthy and whether or not we need an enforcer in the game or not. Those spots will rotate among:
Kevin Westgarth, Scott Parse, and whatever prospects emerge in training camp. My favorite prospects would be Loktionov, Kozun, Holloway, and Vey.
Jeez I forgot all about penner
