Looks like the Habs knocked off T.B. 5-4. Good game in that one.

Well,Flyers drop the first game thanks to a stupid 4 minute penalty by a
guy (Akeson) who was in the minors all year. Why in the hell he was inserted
into the lineup to start the playoffs is mind boggling. Why? Oh well....
time to regroup and get things corrected in game two on Sunday.

Flyers had to win game 1 to have a chance in this series IMO. They can't beat Rangers at home and goaltending is going to be an issue no matter where they play.

If you think thats why they lost the game then i don't know what to tell you. 15 shots on an elite goalie isn't gonna get it done. They were out classed.

I wouldn't say they need game 1, but they definitely need one of the first two.

That's probably right. I just don't think the Flyers are built to win in the playoffs while the Rangers definitely are.

I always root for the home team in overtime when I don't have a rooting interest. I love seeing the fans/players go crazy.

There was a discussion earlier in this thread about Chicago's overtime woes. Let's see what happens tonight.

Playoff OT is a whole different ball game. Blackhawks have had their issues in shootouts this year not so much OT. May not win tonight but I don't think they have an OT issue as much as a shootout issue.

They had problems with shootouts a little bit in the shorten season last year then went 5-2 in OT in last year's playoffs.

A lot of their losses were in straight up overtime. But that was 4v4 in regular season so that's probably not a good indication. However conditioning could also be an issue as could nerves.

Well Miller had a rough start but has been on since the second period. If he plays like he did in the 10 Olympics Hawks will have a hard time winning this series.

I do worry about the loser of this game being emotionally drained going forward in this series.

Dammit, thought I still had time went to take a piss. I come out and the Blues are celebrating.

Not like me to freak out after one game but my level of concern is a 10 out of 10. Blackhawks haven't looked really right the whole 2014 calendar year. I have hopes they can flip the switch come playoff time but that remains to be seen if they can.

Tough tough loss for the Hawks.

I was all set to talk mad shit to Slu if Kaner's go ahead goal stood up as the game winner. Now I am putting up with the smiley face. So it goes.

Overall nice effort from the Hawks, but it was almost like Hjalmarsson's big hit in the third just energized the Blues. Frustrating that we couldn't take control and shut it down after that. Almost did, but came up a little short. V

I'm waiting to see what happens next game, if the Hawks go down 0-2 I will be at a 10 out of 10 but if they come out firing next game all will be right in the hockey world.
