IDK... it'd be like Texas trying to leave the union four or five times and then renaming the Cowboys the "Americens"... looking too far into it?? probably... still laugh at it... they should just change the name to 'habitants' and be done with it.
Montreal was probably a major reason they actually stayed in Canada. Levesque basically blamed all the immigrants in Montreal for ruining the chance at separation. If the Canadiens were in Quebec and not Montreal it would be much more ironic. It was actually an American who first called them the habs but the H in the logo stands for hockey not Habitant.
I also love watching Montreal lose and hate Subban more than any other player in the NHL. He picks his spots to act tough. He was scared shitless of Ference when he went after him.
