Nope I will be watching from a hotel room, going skiing this weekend. Blackhawks will be a good opening game.

Wife and I are going to the game and then heading up the hill to our Big Bear place for the rest of the weekend. Will be a full weekend.

Say what you want about Jody, but the guy knows his role and plays it well. He's a last of a dying breed and the game has changed since the days where these guys were a necessity to keep your stars protected. Guy has got it done long enough and has earned the respect for any knowledgable hockey fan understands and acknowledges he's stuck around even with the game adapting and getting faster...

Despite the Pens/Flyers fun we have and all he Wings fans here the best thing that could happen for the NHL is a Rangers/Kings Stanley Cup.... NHL needs a much needed booster shot... That would work nicely

With a Rangers v. Penguins classic Eastern Conference Finals.

The Western Conference offers some intriguing possibilities too. The Blackhawks and Canucks would be solid draws, and even a up and coming, extremely young Oilers team could create a lot of buzz playing the Kings.

With the infusion of depth and talent the Wild have coming in (Parise, Suter, Mitchell, Granlund, etc.) I hope the Wild make the playoffs and if the breaks go right compete for their division. I think the strike shortened season is going to be detrimental to a team like the Wild with so many new pieces coming together having to gel. A slow start could sink them.

A big piece is staying healthy, the injury bug sunk our season last year. We need Koivu and PMB to stay healthy and our offense should improve greatly.
