It really was a poor and boring Super Bowl!

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

i'm almost 50 and can't remember a worse game....., and I've seen some bad games. Half time show sucked, and even the commercials were crap.

I had tix to go and sold them for what I paid. Had two sets of friends call me in the last 2 weeks asking if I wanted to go with them for free. Glad I stayed home to chill.

The best part of the game = Tracy Wolfson is a dime piece. Still not worth it though lol.

It's weird how Brady can win another Super Bowl and it further cements why Joe is the GOAT, not Brady.

Brady was mediocre in this game, yet the Pats amazing defense and Belichick's coaching got them another SB.

You've just confirmed for me why you have Crazy in your name. Brady is the GOAT and any debate is just hate.

Can't argue with Brady's SB wins. Brady is the ultimate game manager with two outstanding targets to throw to. However, I really curious to see the Pats after he's gone if BB is still the coach. The year he was out the Pats did quite well.

As for the game, almost as bad as the halftime show. The Pats D-line should be the MVP. They controlled the LOS the entire game. Goff looked confused and a little scared to make some throws. Really surprised the Rams didn't go hurry up to get the Pats D out of sync.

Brady is the greatest of all time, but he was average at best last night. Luckily Edelman turned all of this 6 yard passes into 10+ yard gains.

Did anyone kneel during the National Anthem? I missed the first five minutes of the game.

I had this argument with a couple of buddies the other night. Would Tom Brady be the GOAT if he was on any other team in the NFL not coached by Belicheck????

One of the worst Super Bowls I can remember. Further cements why it should've been the Chiefs and Saints, lol

Doubt it. Brady is a great QB, but we saw last night that clearly Belicheat is > than Brady in terms of worth to the team.

Yup. Or really anyone else. I've seen some bad SBs, but I can't recall one where I didn't get excited about the game once. Combined with a crappy HT show, and boring commercials, just plain bad. I haven't talked to one person who enjoyed it. At least Pats fans did.

I agree with this 100%

Here is a rundown of New England's Scoring Defense and their results by year:
2001 - 6th - Wins SB
2002 - 17th - No Playoffs
2003 - 1st - Wins SB
2004 - 2nd - Wins SB

2005 - 17th - Loses AFC Champ game
2006 - 2nd - Loses AFC Champ game
2007 - 4th - 19-1 loses SB
2008 - 8th - 11-5 record without Brady
2009 - 5th - Loses first round
2010 - 8th - Loses first round
2011 - 15th - Loses SB
2012 - 9th - Loses 2nd round
2013 - 10th - Loses 2nd round
2014 - 8th - Wins SB
2015 - 10th - Loses 2nd round
2016 - 1st - wins SB
2017 - 5th - loses SB
2018 - 7th - Wins SB

The mind blowing number in all of this is that Tom Brady has played 17 seasons and his team has failed to have a top10 scoring defense ONLY 3 times. He has won 6 Super bowls with the 6th, 1st, 2nd, 8th, 1st and 7th ranked scoring defense in the league. Other top QBs in the league have not had that many top10 defenses their entire career. 14 seasons with a top10 defense!! That stat is mind boggling.

Drew Brees 12 years with the Saints... number of times with a top 10 scoring defense? Once in 2017.

Aaron Rodgers 13 year career has only had 3 defenses ranked in the TOP10 and won a superbowl the last time he had a top10 defense in 2010.

Joe Montana played from 79 to 92 (14 seasons) for the and won 4 Super Bowls and had a top 10 defense 11 times.

Troy Aikman in the 90s had his first top10 defense in 1992 in his 4th season, they won the Super Bowl that year. Dallas had a top10 defense every year in the 90s except for 1997 and they won 3 Super Bowls that decade.

My point being Tom Brady is a great QB but he has to be one of the luckiest QBs of All-time to have Bill Belichick and a top10 defense EVERY SEASON. With Peyton Manning people acted like it was Brady V Manning... No it was Brady V Colts top20 defense and Manning V Patriots Top10 and often times Top5 defense.

Patriots Defense held the GREATEST SHOW ON TURF to 17 points
Patriots Defense held Atlanta's top scoring offense (33.8) to 21pts and ZERO second half points and got a crucial strip sack to set up the comeback
Patriots defense with an INT in the END ZONE in the last seconds to beat Seattle
Patriots defense with the BEST defensive performance ever in the SuperBowl to beat the Rams 13-3.

What's your take on Brady throwing for 500+ yards with 3 TDs and 0 INT and losing in the Super Bowl last year because the defense gave up 41 points to Nick Foles?

My take is that they didn't win the Super Bowl because the Defense didn't win it for them.

Having a Bill B and a Top10 defense will put you in a position to win a SB every single year... thats not saying they will but the odds are in Bradys favor to win 6 in 17 years having a top10 Defense and Bill B

Brady did however fumble it late in the 4th down 6 points

but yes, i'd agree the Eagles out coached Belicheat on that side of the ball. Philly had some timely success running the ball as well.

It’s definitely an interesting argument regarding BB vs. Brady. Belichick has a fairly poor record in games not involving Brady. The 11-5 season without Brady was 5 games worse than the year before and they also missed the playoffs that year. Of course, Brady has been helped by the defenses Belichick has put together. Neither would have had the success they have had without the other. Football is too much of a team sport.

As far as Brady vs. Manning. If Peyton didn’t take the maximum amount of money every year there would have been millions left to pick up some extra defensive players. One thing I’ve always respected about Brady, he’s taken less money every year to help his team win. Sure, it helps that his wife is loaded but Peyton made plenty whoring himself out to anyone who would throw money his way. Although, many of his commercials were really funny.

Tom has had some created contracts with large bonuses that made his yearly smaller.
While Manning was tops in his times in sponsors, Tom IIRC leads now, or close to the top. He's definitely not St Tom.

BTW, Tom's net worth is 180M. His wife 380M. Tom could play for free if he wanted.
Peyton's is 200M. Brady should surpass him pretty soon.

Bonus money still counts against the cap (can be spread out). Either way, he took less and his number was less against the cap. Freed up a lot of money for other players.

Did anyone notice the National Anthem thing? An extra home of the brave pushed the over and the woman had to be in on the fire. It was that close....

Bovada has it as under.

Doesn't make much sense that they would count something that isn't part of the song. What if she had said "I love you Atlanta!" at the end? That ad lib obviously wouldn't count either.

Is this reason the prop bets haven't been settled yet because there is some controversy over the results? Sorry to be "that guy".

I would almost take Peyton over Brady. Peytons achilles heal was always the Patriots top10 defense. If the Colts had a top 10 def 14 of 17 years like Brady Peyton Manning would easily have just as many Super Bowls in my opinion.

Without Belicheat, I'd take a healthy Manning over Brady every day. Put Manning on the Pats with Bellicheat and boom.
